First ever bar tape job
Stripped old tape, cleaned off old adhesive. Pulled first roll of tape out of box, black with small flecks of brown cork, looks good. Apply. Pulled back and rewrapped a few areas, but overall thinking I did a good job. Finish off with black electrical tape. Feeling really good. Remove second roll rom box. Wait, what? Flat black - no flecks of cork at all. Are you kidding me? Apply. Feeling jipped.

Still kicking.
That tends to happen from time to time with cork depending on the manufacturer.

Because I might want to actually ride the bike prior to getting this all resolved...I actually bought the tape from a shop an hour away from my house. I was traveling for work today, had time to kill on my lunch break and ducked into the nearest shop. Needed tape, so bought some. Just dumb luck.

And if they say "send us the tape back, so we can send it back to the manufacturer (or tell them to send us a matching tape), and we will give you a we will send you a new tape when the tape arrives" are you going tell them you already used it?

Use a magic marker to cover the natural cork flakes.

Oh well, if it was anything like my first bar tape job, it probably sucked anyway. Surely you want to make it look like it wasn't your first time taping bars??
