Sub-14 lb steel by Sven Cycles. Looks to be about my size and has nice high bars. I think I'd go for shiny silver cranks, stem and seatpost, though, even if those pushed it up to 15 lbs.

Garmin: Its got to be the power meter.
HP: But that makes no sense. I am losing cadence and HR too.
Garmin: Well, we don't know anything about Stages power meters.
HP: Anyway, I sent one of the PMs back to Stages, they tested it and found nothing wrong. Plus they replaced all the internal bits nonetheless. Its the Edge 510.
Garmin: Well, no one has ever reported an issue with the Edge 510 and the Stages PM.
HP: But what I'm trying to tell you is that the Edge 510 cannot maintain communication with the Stages PM AND the Garmin HR monitor AND the Garmin speed/cadence sensors. On both bikes. Its the Edge 510.
Garmin: Well, we have no idea.
HP: Maybe you can send me some other unit, like an 800 series unit, I can run the two simultaneously.
Garmin: Oh we can't do that. Send us your Edge 510 and we'll take a look.
HP: But then I will have no head unit and will be unable to record any data at all.
Garmin: ??? <That is the sound of them being perplexed as to why I have a problem with this. Data collection is apparently unimportant to this company which sells data collection devices.>
HP: <Silence, trying to get them to think about that for a second.>
Garmin: Let me go talk to an engineer.
<Hold music for 5 minutes.>
Garmin: Maybe the Edge 510 cannot function in the presence of the Bluetooth transmissions from the Stages Power Meter
HP: Well, the Edge 510 is supposed to be able to function in the presence of Bluetooth from my phone to take advantage of the LiveTrack feature
Garmin: Well turn the Bluetooth off on your phone then.
HP: ??? <Fortunately I don't use the LiveTrack feature> Ok, well you advertise the Edge 510 as being compatible with the Stages Power Meter. If its not, you need to tell customers that.
Garmin: Well Stages is a totally separate company, we have no idea what they are doing.
HP: Ok, so I should just throw my Edge 510 in the garbage and buy something else.
Garmin: We're not saying that.
HP: So what are you saying? What is the next action step?
Garmin: We don't know what the problem could be....
And so on.

Poor Dude. I texted him at 9:15 to see what he had heard from Garmin. He was on hold. I just got a text from him that he is still on the phone with them. It usually takes about 20 min of being on hold, then about an hour before the person finally starts to wrap their head around what you are talking about. Then usually another 40 minutes of going in circles.
Garmin: Its got to be the power meter.

It's a shame he has to supplement his meager retirement income by answering the phone for Garmin.

OMG! I got the same email. I think we're (everyone but Heathpack, cause her's isn't working) being watched and tracked. It's possible that the electro-ejaculate tool is emanating a frequency that's interfering with her Garmin 510. Run that by the Garmin geeks for a response.

I'm way to far behind to catch up, but I wanted to share my excitement. Just ordered myself a Vuelta Corsa SLR wheelset and a few other odds and ends. Will knock 539 grams off my bike. Going to turn the Corsa Pros into my gravel wheels since I have a set of gravel tires on order at the LBS.

The latest Garmin solution, after 2 hours on the phone: "well, just keep riding around with both units and see if the problem happens again."
No kidding.
So what replacement head unit should I buy? Any ideas? Obviously non-Garmin.

I'm still set on getting the H+ Son Archetype, even though the Corsa Lite are lighter and cheaper.

I was going to say, ask Stages what they like, but all of the stuff I see on their website points to Garmin.

You wanted 23mm rim height vs the Lite's 27mm? SLR saves only 100 grams. Also wish they were 23mm wide. But I like the new look of the rim, without that hideous Vuelta logo all of the rim.

Really I just need to figure out what other bike computer from the Stages list of 15ish devices would be my best next choice.

Joule's get good reviews.
This stuff is interesting.
I don't know if the 510 is returnable, but if it is... I would return it and buy two 500's at $150.00 each. I know you don't want more Garmin stuff, so that's only my opinion out loud.

How ironic! I get home from work today and my wife is cooking a pot of spit pea soup with ham. I will soon be asking, may I have some souplesse?

Warning bicycle content in the lyrics. Oh and I guess NSFW language is in there too.

I'm thinking the single speed will get Sun Ringle CR-18 rims and All-City hubs.

Ha! I got a nice heel from a prosciutto, a pea soup is in the near future. Kinda backed up at the moment though, I need to make a Pho stock and a pot roast, materials are on deck...
