I had the TV on while I slept last night (or didn't sleep, as the case may be), and I would swear I heard Belichick say that if you took him back to 1995, he'd deflate the footballs all over again. He went on to say "I would want to change the man that did those things, maybe not the decision, but the way he acted the way he treated people, the way he couldn't stop fighting. It was unacceptable, inexcusable."
I was groggy. I may have some details wrong.

I use QR front hubs (Velocity Race on one set, DuraAce on another), and for rear hubs I have a Soma Somax and a Surly Ultra New. I have the most miles on the Somax, and would not recommend it, or use it again. The bearings are very small, and I have gone through scads of them. The axle is also giving signs of not being happy any more. The Somax appears to be very similar to the Novatec's that BDop has for sale. The Surly Ultra New seems very nice so far, but only has a fraction of the miles on it. I like that it uses an allen bolt instead of the 15mm wrench, and that it is produced in a 130 mm OLD version.
I like the looks of the All City New Sheriff as well, and may build with that in the future.

...what if they actually started randomized steroid testing in the pro football ranks, and enforced the "rules" barring their use ? #sad_day

I did another evening gravel ride last night. Things were a bit on the mucky side since we had some precipitation (snow) the day before and yesterday got up to the mid 40s during the day (35 when I got out).
Everything from my waist down looked like this:

And my point is that the only thing unique about the situation is the amount of fan outrage directed at the team. Hell, the Saints won the SuperBowl on the back of an organized head-hunting scheme with the sole purpose of injuring select opposing players. Yes, the NFL came down on them (with the mountain of evidence against them, they couldn't), but fan reaction was decidedly "meh." Meanwhile, for a non-story like "DeflateGate," there are actually fans calling for sanctions like suspending Belichick for the title game or even vacating wins, etc. I mean, for the love of Pete, let's get a grip.

Next time, ride the bike in the background. The mud and stuff will be easier to see, and consequently, the wash job should be smoother.

I also like the look of the Velo-Orange Grand Cru in the same price range as the All City New Sheriff. Bonus: they come with spacers, so I can set them up for 126mm to match the Schwinn.

Wonder how deep @2manybikes is buried in the storm. As I predicted, the weatherman whiffed on their predictions for my area. We got maybe 6 inches, but I'm sure further east got hammered.
Weather forecasting is a coin-flip, you just can't accurately predict what mother nature is going to do. So when I hear them start hyper-ventilating over some coming apocalyptic storm I take it with a grain of salt. Most of those record-setting storms are surprises, despite today's technology. Although they did get Hurricane Sandy right, hurricane Irene is exhibit A in the "oops" category.

And yes, I'd absolutely ban Belichick. Only, for life. Actual life, not the Gregg Williams "life". Kraft too, for a good long while. Vacating wins, sure. Look what the NCAA did to USC over the Bush benefits. I'd be using that as a model for this punishment. That didn't affect play on the field. So, add forfeiture of a bunch of draft picks, and salary cap reduction. I'll be generous and let them keep pictures of Belichick on the wall.
Lack of institutional control. They were warned after Spygate to walk the straight and narrow. I don't even care who did it, or who knew. They failed to implement a culture of obeying the rules. Again, the contention is not that this game was a one-off. They've gotten through a lot of close games.
I'm really surprised you're caping up for them.

He probably DID ride the one with the white tires. The one in front, used just for posting purposes, has been sitting in that condition for years.

Welcome to FB; I see you're new here. It's an almost useless collection of links to thrillist (et al), political diatribes, and baby pics. I check in about once a week and that feels like too much.

I know I have no reason to complain compared to our more northerly folks, but I am bummed. We are starting several days of clear, dry, mid-70s weather and last night I started to feel a flu-like virus coming on. Crap.

Here's a low-life who has repeatedly demonstrated he will cheat to get an edge on his opponents. What should they do with repeat offenders? Banishment.

Any chance it's just allergies? Almost ever time AG says she's starting to feel sick, it's actually cedar or mold. Or does that not hit over on the coast as much?

Hey, you guys aren't knocking on my Barbie bike are you? It's got a sweet handlebar bag and a cool clip to hold Barbie's bike on the handlebars too. Not to mention the awesome tassles. ...but, no. I would not ride it out in the muck. It's too precious to me.

I learned about this on FB. It's kind of cool. So, not a total waste.
