As with bike stuff, it takes a very close situation for them to make the difference. For the most part, big engine and smart pacing win.

Multiple varieties. I don't like how any of them feel, though. STers probably slurp down half the volume; on a tri budget they're not too bad.

However, running and swimming are not cycling and tri. FINA makes UCI look progressive and might ban body shaving if they could. If UCI were as conservative the pros would be running Eroica style. Running hasn't had to decide yet, but I can understand the thinking that it should be a level playing field of opportunity, and someone who's destitute in a third-world country should be able to compete with anyone. It could be set that the pros have a set of rules separate from Olympics and WR attempts.

Anyone else watching the Cheer documentary on Netflix? It's like All or Nothing for one of the top collegiate teams in the country, a juco up just a little south of Dallas.

I'm split - it's such a marginal thing that I personally don't really care. For the pros, it does matter (but I really don't care about their rules). As a tri guy and geek in general, I love equipment and improvements.

That's... extra special. The poverty argument was one that's been flowing around the endurance community since they launched. Wrong sponsors? Tough. Also, as I said, all the big ones are Nike anyway. Like, functionally 100% last I saw, on the marathon circuit.

OMG. Jim Lehrer dies yesterday? RIP.
And it turns out Dominoes doesn't offer free packets of red peppers with pizzas anymore. What kind of world are we leaving for our children?
