The indian restaurant had some amazing food. Loved it. Can't wait to go back. The Chicken masala was my favorite.

I much prefer the chicken dishes at Indian restaurants - it's easy to get good cuts of meat in there. Goat, beef or lambs is far too often stringy, fatty or tough, so I now avoid them. Vego or chicken FTW.

I don't eat goat or lamb, but we didn't order any beef. The vegetarian dish we got was also delicious, I forget what it was called though.

Lamb is amazing when cooked properly. One of the best dishes I ever had was a Lamb porterhouse from this place in Cambridge: www.tentables.net

Made enough of this last night to last me the rest of the week:

Quinoa with black beans, tomatoes, and corn. Spiced with cumin, chili powder, chili flakes, and Cholula.

all you need is some dead critter mixed in, and that looks perfect.

I know, I usually do put cilantro in but my girlfriend hates it so I have gotten out of the habit. Avocados are good too, but there are no good avocados in November, especially in NY. Not that there are really good tomatoes or corn either, but I digress...

I eat about 3-4 tbsp of peanut butter a day. Right now trainer and dietician want me eating it. I have a jar in my desk - I just scoop it up and eat it off the spoon.

Here's my super simple goto quinoa recipe. It was written for my daughter. Grown ups should consider sautéing the veggies in the spices for way more zing.

Ingredients:
• 2 cups quinoa
• 1 can of black beans
• ½ can of corn
• 2 jalapeno peppers
• 2 tsp garlic powder
• 2 tsp cumin powder
• 2 tsp coriander powder
• 6 tbsp chopped cilantro
• 1 cup diced tomato

Dressing:
• 2 limes
• ½ cup olive oil
• 2 tsp salt
• 1 tsp pepper
• ½ tsp cayenne

Directions:
1) Put 2 cups of quinoa in a pot containing 4 cups (approx) cold water to soak for 15 minutes. Drain, rinse and change the water every 5 minutes.
2) Prepare vegetables by seeding and dicing 2 peppers and 1 tomato, rinsing black beans well, and draining water from corn. Combine all into a cooking pot and add 2 tsp garlic, 2 tsp cumin, and 2 tsp coriander. Set aside
3) Rinse and strain Quinoa (after 15 minutes) and place in pot with 3 ¼ cups of water. Bring to boil, cover tightly, then simmer for 15 minutes.
4) Prepare dressing by whisking together juice from 2 limes, 1/2 cup of olive oil, 2 tsp salt, 1 tsp black pepper, 1 tsp cayenne.
5) When quinoa is done cooking remove from heat and let cool for 5 minutes before fluffing with fork.
6) Warm the mix of spices and vegetables and gently fold into the fluffed quinoa.
7) Stir in chopped cilantro and serve

Alsatian Tart in Pizza form is yummy. And filling. And probably wildly unhealthy.

But I like this combo of ingredients: sautéed onions, shallots, garlic, creme fraiche, bacon & gruyere.

I made wilted greens (red chard and rabe) sauteed in olive oil with a bit of applewood bacon served with pork chops dredged in marjoram, allspice, pepper, and salt along with twice baked potatoes with rosemary, Gruyere, and blue cheese. It was yum.

Thought I might come home from Iraq a little lighter than I left. That is until I discovered the Kurdish pastries they serve at the chai breaks. Flaky (butter) and sweet (honey). Oh so delicious.
