I'm leaning toward a bonus point for air flow mitigation on the Smella via the untrimmed zip ties. Those things should act just like the spoilers on the NASCAR cup bodies. There is no way passing would be easy with all of the air being disturbed by those things. Smiles, Dave # 3

I forgot to mention the shifting in my earlier mini ride report for the Stella. Given how it was behaving in the work stand I was expecting a real "find 'em and grind 'em" experience, but it was actually very good most of the time. I wasn't attempting precise shifts, just kind of slapping it to a random location based on where I wanted to be between my high gear and my low gear, and it generally found a cog and worked quietly. I guess Shimano had already figured out to put a bit of wiggle room in their jockey wheels by the time they made the Eagle. Plus the huge knobs on the shifters make them easy to grab.
But all that changed about half a mile before I got back to the park-and-ride. After I downshifted for a slight hill the chain started jumping and I just couldn't get it to stop no matter how gently I moved the shifter. I gave up and just accepted the racket until I finished the ride.
It turns out what had happened is that when I hit the hill I bumped the front shifter with my leg and it was trying to jump up to the big chainring. Did I mention that I used a top-normal front derailleur on this? Now that's a horror.

The tour de force is, of course, the bar ends on bar ends, which never dawned on me (who knows why), but here is art. In practice, infinite possibilities exist. I'm imagining bar ends on bar ends on bar ends on bar ends on bar ends on bar ends on bar ends on bar ends on bar ends on bar ends on bar ends on bar ends on bar ends on bar ends on bar ends on bar ends. You could have a 30ft handlebar if you really wanted to, totally custom!!
I was so enthralled by the handlebars, that I didn't even notice all the zip ties. Words leave me. It's too magnificent to comprehend!
EDIT: I was FULLY expecting to see this bike (and USAZorro 's, for that matter) in the 'October Orange' bike thread...

Well Halloween is over and it's winter Holliday tourist early ski season in Fairplay. So time for this challenge to end for me the Fuji coaster was a bit of a fail and the Zombie Juenet Turned out pretty good will likely change it back to a more normal bike in the next few days may keep the odd Edge triple crank it is surprisingly super smooth for a oblong chain set and the bit of extra power and triple is nice. So her are some last pics of the Jeunet Zombie in the wild.

Okay, in what could be considered a waste of time, exercise in futility, spitting into the wind, etc (nothing new here), I have accomplished something on the Crapamount! Don’t worry, I’m not proud of it.
We now have a (dangerously) rideable bike!
If my ethos on this build was: Put in the littlest effort imaginable, using the cheapest parts possible, with the most shock-factor available, and pretend like I have no clue what I’m doing, with no regard for safety, compatibility, or beauty…I’d end up about exactly where I am right now! Believe it or not, it is intentional. This poor bike
I took in for a spin around the yard , and if one was able to get past the crunchy, snappy noise of what must be an incompatible chain, I’m extremely afraid and disappointed to report - I liked it!
And yes, there are Huffy parts on this bike.
We now have a (dangerously) rideable bike!
If my ethos on this build was: Put in the littlest effort imaginable, using the cheapest parts possible, with the most shock-factor available, and pretend like I have no clue what I’m doing, with no regard for safety, compatibility, or beauty…I’d end up about exactly where I am right now! Believe it or not, it is intentional. This poor bike

Funny thing…I actually really like these cranks, the FC-M510. Decently light, easy BCD to play with, and stiff. Plus square taper. Only thing that gets rough is Q factor.
