Too much real life to finish the Ochsner yesterday, But today was better. Stole a fixing bolt for the Huret rear mech that converts from French to Italian drop outs from a Duopar here in the shop. So that issue is solved. Now getting ready to cable it up. I will have to shave down a round button on a front mech to a flat one, and had a lucky find of an old Schwinn spare left over from a seat pack I picked up a few years back. I will be ready with the finished bike this evening. A break to watch the Rose Bowl with the number one and two powerhouses. Back later with final pictures. Smiles, MH

Game is over (B10 win) and I have finished the cable routing. Chain is in a degreaser solution to remove residue from previous use. Will install it tomorrow and do a quick shakedown run. Then it will be off to the trainer for my winter bike. I got all the colors and about ten countries for the build. And I did come close to the finish date, and I was pretty close. Zero points for the timeline DQ. Smiles, MH

I would have loved to see it! Quite a few great actresses have done such roles, with varying success in masking their appearance.

Partial failure: I did not make the deadline due to the flu, procrastination and sun spot activity rendering my ADD at paralysis level. DQ on arrival

It had Assos pedals but since I wish to sell those I figured I was disqualified anyhow and this makes it utilitarian.
My favorite DT in the whole world. Soviet XB3 shifters running a Cyclone RD, Huret FD, around a Lambert crankset on a Shimano Bb
Regina FW on a Samson Stratics sealed titanium hub with Mavic Ma 4o rims, Wheelsmith spokes and Serfas tires (a bit concerned about those)
Temporary Friko bars, Puch-SR stem (they need to go with the AD SLE I am trying to rehome), Bontrager tape, Cane Creek hoods and Czechoslovakian Favorit levers.
The mighty Gecko reflective Decal. Sort of a trademark for me on my painted frames.

Fantastic, simply fantastic! While there were delays, it provided the opportunity for you and Mad Honk to be fashionably late, and given the nature of this thread, somehow still feels right on time.
Now that the Daves' submissions have been posted, shall we work on tallying up points to see who takes home the bacon (barcon?)?
It was a fine challenge and the the contestants all provided entries that were horrifying, yet revolting. I'm impressed. Perhaps most impressed with the level of detail that some applied to the number of countries represented, as that is no small feat.
I do think this could spawn other awful challenges in the future, like 'Ugliest bike competition' with a later poll to find the star winner, or maybe a 'You ride that?' Challenge where the ugliest bike ridden in person, in public (with proof) will win. So many fantastic ideas. For now, I think it will be up to USAZorro to take the helm with another rendition of his fabulous 'On the road again' Challenge, but something hideous, something awful, may still be brewing underneath the surface. I'm excited!
