It looks like they were that way before=hand. It isn't quite as "minty" as the pictures make it look, but a couple days giving it a Meguiar's massage will help with that. Nonetheless, it is in quite nice shape overall.

Very good, hopefully the price was right. If they were already bent I would have cut them off and extracted them to avoid any further damage to the threads, chrome or paint and sent knobs and springs along. Sometimes they can be straightened, but it can be sketchy at best imho.

Sounds like a great plan, will be good to return this to as it should be. Got bolts or a workaround for the inner ring that you scored?

No, these aren't vintage (2010 ) but they sure will look nice on my Stella.

Plus, they are a good match with a couple of other parts I picked up recently.

What they won't go with is patina. I guess I'll need to paint the bike.

Definitely, except the weather is better so hopefully I won't have to wait so long to enjoy these goodies.

No mail today but a swapmeet visit and made the usual stop to vendors with bicycle parts and apparel. This one has been on the sellers rack for about 8 months. Knocked him down to $4 for this one.

Last Friday (before I left for Portland for easter weekend with my family) I received a 1987 Schwinn Prologue in immaculate shape. It was build with a mix of 7-speed 105 and Deore XT components. Nicely done, and everything was in working order...well, before it was disassembled for shipping. I was PUMPED to get it (a huge thank you to @camelopardalis for facilitating), and before I drove south that evening, I drove into downtown Seattle that evening to get it from work as it was delivered there. I will be creating a build thread, even if it is mostly complete. Starting Wednesday, we have a bunch of consistent rain headed our way. I'll have time to get that thread going. Hopefully I can test ride before that mess hits.

Last week I scored a nice 1990 Bridgestone RB-1 on local Craigslist. Lovely bike, but I couldn't abide the Vetta Turbo saddle that came on it.

I decided to try a Prologo Nago PAS saddle instead. The saddle arrived today and I got in a nice (fast!) test ride tonight. I can already tell, I'm gonna really like its shape!

I love mine.

Build details?

That blue looks great. Too bad it's gonna get covered in mud and gravel silt.

I received this nice little topper for the Medici transformation:

It's a Concor Supercorsa; I wasn't aware Selle San Marco made Medici's branded saddles. It's in super, used-but-not-abused shape. This one has neither the typical smooth or suede finish; it's more of a marbled kind of look. Pretty cool.

Not sure about the build yet. Probably parts bin for a while. I need to move some other bikes to build up this one. Glad to hear you like yours. I like the idea of 40mm X 700c.

Something for my wife's bike

Fenders!

From https://www.woodysfenders.com/Default.asp

This is the second set I've gotten from him. The craftsmanship is gorgeous, and they hold up well. I've had a set on another bike for 3-4 years now, and they look just as good as new.
