Not a bike but i though this was pretty cool, a 40 year old Raleigh dealer catalog and price list:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/23433771377...wAAOSwHNZhuu9w

Too rich for my blood but I watched one a year or two older than this one go off in 2019 for a good bit more than the sellers bin price.

1981 is also the last year for real Raleighs, 1982 started the Huffy years in the US.

Bianchi somewhere under there

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...2001919211962/
$400
Looks like some legit Bianchi fork and SS pantographing. Didn’t try to lookup more Info but could be of some interest if you can look past the bad decals and white paint.

Pogliaghi
$123,456
Listed a week ago in Buffalo, NY
  • Condition
    Used - Good
  • Brand
    Pogliaghi
Older 10 speed. 21" frame. Campy. Needs a new paint job and restore to its original condition. Best of offer

Agreed this looks to be a "legit Pog", but given the era (Portacatena dropouts, etc.) it's almost certainly a post-Sante frame made by Rossin. But too early to be a Basso-made "Pog" (which I believe were the ones that Performance once imported and sold). So, if you want a "Rossin/Pogliaghi" just need to find out what $$ the seller might actually accept for it!

The owner got back to me and I went and saw it today. It's very rough and all the Campy stuff except the back brake (?) was gone. It had all mid-level Shimano except for the crank which, weirdly, was Dura Ace. This all doesn't so bad but it was really rough--the rusty, stretched-out chain had been grinding things down for years, it looked like. Still a good deal for a street beater Cannondale for someone but I passed on it.

Trek 18 speed bike - $100 (Timberlake-Hillsborough)

1980's 18 speed Trek bike. I don't see a model number anywhere. It's a chromoly frame. Tires are flat. I don't have the special pump to air them up. Bring yours and you can ride it. It's been in my family since new. Just need it out of my way.

Ok, this is the coolest looking bike I've ever posted. My size but I'm a afraid all the cool kids would laugh at me riding it. Can't quite see the engraving on the forks but I think it's legit. I know it's an old ad but was updated recently to lower price.

Seriously, if still available the parts are worth a few bucks

The big issue with this seller is "a fixed service freight is $140" and there is no sign of allowing local pick up. If there is allowance for local pick up, seller has a Miyata 1000 and same size for sale as well that's currently at $500 with 0 bids, but again no mention of local pick up and " shipping is only the continental United States $140 thanks"

That Casati looks cool (excepting the rims and tires). Points to seller, I never knew anyone made rims like that, tires I can see but those rims???

If ever a bike cried out for a sandblasting that it. Mind you, really nice quality work, on the paint job!

I know this shop well: have friends who live nearby and have patronized them often. I could ask one of the kids to go snag it for me but...don't really need another bike that's not my size. if you're local to them in Santa Rosa drop by, an easy-going volunteer crew co-op.

Thumpy, you sure know how to find 'em. It's only 1250 miles from here. Hmmm. Riding from here hauling a trailer would probably take about 20 days to get there. I wonder if they'd hold it that long? (I'm saying I like it.)
