re: the Gitane; it has turkey brake levers and steel cottered crankset, not a good sign for a high end bike. I suppose that it could depend on when it was made, but, these things add up to less than the asking price (unless extremely rare). I've no idea on rarity...

this isnt too much of a screamin deal but i think its a fair price so im going to check it out tonight. Aside from the lock, the seller said its only missing the shift cable. Although i dont know if it is a 68 as stated.

Gotta love the kooky stem and the chrome on the Gitane, but WOW, those are some relaxed angles.

Ok, this bike may not be that special (Bridgestone MB6), but this ad wins hands down for the most unique/awesome pictures:

Dahon Boardwalk Folding Bike with Carry Bag - $125 (Barnegat)

Date: 2012-12-04, 3:09PM EST
Reply to this postReply to: wmjw3-3455210589@sale.craigslist.org[SUP][?][/SUP]

This is a great Dahon Boardwalk folding bike with the canvas carry bag. The bike is in very good condition and was recently maintained including a new chain. It has a comfortable Velo GelTech seat with a 6 speed MRX Grip Shift. This is a great commuter bike and perfect for boating or camping. There is some light rust including the underside of the handlebar. I will NOT respond if you ask if it is still available. It is listed because it is available- when I sell the item I delete the listing. The bike may be seen & picked up in Barnegat, 10 minutes off GSP exit 67. Please contact me by email for additional information. Thanks, Bill

[h=2]Natchez Litespeed 3/25 Titanium Excellent Condition over 10yrs old(BO) - $750 (Englewood NJ 07631)[/h]

Date: 2012-12-04, 8:54PM EST
Reply to this postReply to: gw6fg-3429628646@sale.craigslist.org[SUP][?][/SUP]

All information is as accurate as possible but please do not hesitate to ask questions or send email if you want to get a phone photo emailed. . .

This bike belonged to a fit and trim 5'8" tall elegant lady who rode it through her sixties (it has been in storage for 5 years). She had it regularly serviced and maintained by the Piermont Bike Shop. Last service date was July 2007 and it was barely ridden since she passed shortly after that- It was ridden in the tri state area and on trips to England and France, by someone as meticulous about her property as she was in researching purchases, including speed and distance bikes...

She did update her bike with accessories by other makers.

An American flag picture and Made in the USA is on front of frame over LITESPEED.

Possibly a 53 CM frame if measuring from pedal fulcrum to top bar... SHIMANO 170 FC-1057 JAPAN on pedals which have rear reflectors.

A kind person has informed me that this is worth at least the starting price and advised me not to go down... Another helped me with some information, in that since it bears the signature of Litespeed's founder , on the frame, "W. David Lynskey" It means that it was built before he sold the company, so was probably built between 1997 and 1999...

Number on frame under sprocket is 30976...

On the bicycle it says: NATCHEZ - LITESPEED 3/25 Titanium, and LOOK

Worth up to $1500 in perfect condition, we will take $750 or best offer - Experts tell us even to if you find the accessories outdated, that they don't make them like this any more and frame alone is of value. We hope it finds a home with someone who enjoys riding as much as it's original owner. Someone is selling a similar (1997) 53 cm frame-only model here for 600 starting, just fyi.

Please email me any questions if the photographs and description are not in enough detail. Thank you and happy holidays to you and yours.

Pickup in Englewood NJ 07631 near Palisades and Grand; cash or PayPal only.

That is worth it just for the Rally RD- I just sold one on eBay for a hair less than the cost of that whole bike.

I don't really have any sense of what these sell for, but it's pretty:

Reply to this post shzgt-3417294698@sale.craigslist.org[SUP][?][/SUP]

A gentleman's 1951 Raleigh DL-1 Tourist for sale. 3-speed English cruiser from the hey-day, this is easily the most comfortable bicycle I've ever ridden.
Most of the bicycle is original, including the fun rod brakes and Brooks leather saddle. The Sturmey-Archer hub has been swapped out from an early-70s model, and the tires are new.
Don't let the classiness of this ride fool you, its a work horse - the same one used by English bobbies and mail carriers back when they had those.

Kind of pricey, but cool nonetheless.

$300

https://stlouis.craigslist.org/bik/3459561633.html

1983 Trek model #850, Trek's very first mountain bike. This bike, along with a very small group of others represents the very beginning of the commercially-available mountain bike industry.

Bike is sized as a 22", however, the frame sizes from the period don't translate well to modern bike sizing. This particular bike is more similar to today's 17 & 19 inch bikes.

The tires shown in the photos were somewhat period correct but were badly dry rotted and rode terribly compared to modern tread design, the tires have since been replaced. The bike is well loved and exhibits scratches and chips synonymous with a 30yo used mountain bike.

Overall this is a very ridable, displayable, and awesome bit of vintage mountain bike hotness.

Please respond to this advert by email and include your local/regional phone number (this helps filter scammers/spammers).

The Trek 850 is nice, I wish it was a 24". The brochure is interesting in that they call it a rough terrain bicycle and not a mountain bike.

After looking at the pictures some more, I noticed that the bike on CL doesn't have the MTE-100 seatpost that the catalog lists. Those MTE-100s bring pretty good money on Ebay.
