Well, I'm in a predicament now. Seeing as the Soma Rush frame I ordered was out of stock in the khaki green color I wanted, I'm forced to reconsider what I'm going to get if anything.
You can only get the Khaki Green from Somafab now and it costs $389.99
A white one can be had from Tree Fort Bikes for $337.95
I just don't consider myself much of a white frame kind of guy. The lame part is the shop with the out of stock green rush had it listed at $255.41. No wonder they're all sold out. Should I donate plasma and sell my kidney to make up for the extra $135 the green would cost, pay the extra $83 for the white one that doesn't excite me as much, or do something else. If anyone knows a place that has the green in 57cm for less than 390, lemme kno!

a lot of the places that listed the soma frames so cheap ($250) were sending out old ones. pay attention to the model # if not ordering from soma directly. I even got sent an older white model once, which I sent back.
I'd pay the extra $130 for the color you want, even if that means waiting an extra 2 weeks to order it. compromise always ends losing more money than that in the long run

I was looking at my bank statements and realized that I still had the charge from the first frame (that was out of stock) withstanding since the refund hasn't made its way to my statement yet. Now realizing I have $255.41 more than I thought, I'm pulling the trigger. Green track frame in my size, here I come!

Should I take it to the LBS?
I'm putting bullhorns on my Kilo TT, and changing to bar end levers. Bullhorns dont fit flush inside stem. I don't think my brake cables are long enough either. I want the cables wrapped inside the bar tape. Don't really know what I'm doing here but I think this might be something easy to learn...

I just got this new Langster off ebay. As much as I love the smooth ride, the bike is too flashy for my taste. I'm thinking about putting a bunch of stickers on the frame and to use a sharpie to black out the Sugino labels on the crank to deter thieves.
Tokyo Langster
My desired look.

An ounce of good lock technique and smarts about parking is worth a pound of stickers and sharpie.
@scrod - I think it's a "should I cover it in stickers and permanent marker to deter thieves"

BD said I would get a quality bicycle and I haven't received anything that resembles one.
...
Anyways, I just realized something. I have a bunch of old campy components sitting around, including full drivetrain, hubs, and cinelli bars. Should I build up something vintage? Like an old Guerciotti, or Tommassini? Because those frames are actually fairly cheap on eBay, and I can afford a $400 frame.

I've been thinking about the wheels on my new frame (which gets here tomorrow!!!!!!). Should I continue to rock the Spinergy and All City to Alex DA28 (pic), get a matching front wheel built, or get an entirely different wheelset. If I got something different it would probably be all silver and box section or not very deep rims - wheelset must be 1800g or less. Pics of frame here. It's the green one.

I personally like the lolergy... but Wabi's GX410 wheelset is never a bad idea. Plus, they are a mere 1750g per set.

Your cog is slipping.
I would definitely do something low profile and classic looking on that frame. The weight your aiming for is reasonable. My A23 wheelset weighs in right around there.

Wow! I'm definitely going to keep that wheelset in mind. $175 all said and done sounds like a smokin deal. The lolergy is definitely a lot of fun and the reactions it gets are pretty entertaining but I'm thinking about making this new build a little less tarck. I think my rear wheel weighs in around 960 and the front is 860 so that wabi set would be both lighter and more relevant to my plans for the bike. If only the rims came in silver :/
