Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I would have to go with the @coasting Short Stem Fit System®, of course, that 160-ish tiller ain't gonna work for me.
Oh my.

Hook your Garmin up to your PC. Open the files associated with your Garmin- ie the files on the Garmin itself, not your PC.

You'll see a list of folders. You need to delete the entire folders labeled:
1. Activities
2. Courses
3. New Files
4. Workouts

It does not matter if the folders appear empty. If there are corrupted files in those folders, you will get a message to the effect of "Are you sure you want to delete these 28 items?" Which tells you that you have 28 corrupted files hidden in that folder. Click "yes" and proceed with deleting each of these folders. Even if you do not get this message, delete the folders anyway, there is no negative consequence to doing this.

The next time you hook your Garmin up to your PC, these folders will be restored and this time they will be truly empty.

@Heathpack - thanks. Probably is a good thing to do this occasionally anyway.

Yes, Garmin unofficially suggests going through this procedure after every ride.

If those folders are truly empty, they will delete instantly. If there are corrupted files, you will either get the message I mention above or the folders will take a few minutes to delete.

Interested to hear what happens for you when you go through this process.

Aw too bad. The "corrupted file" trick is one of the fastest Garmin fixes.

No, I don't trust that. I also don't use strava, I think it's too invasive. Not from a conspiracy theorist standpoint or whatever, but I don't like everyone watching my rides. It's weird.

It's almost boating weather. We only have 6 miles of water here, but you can bet we go end to end in the res for three or four hours. Can't wait for that.

OK, I've got a Strava question for all you smart people. I recently had someone give me kudos and comment on a ride I had posted on Strava. I don't follow him. He doesn't follow me. There were others on the same ride who do follow him, though. I really don't want him knowing when and where I ride. How is it he was able to see my ride and comment on it? Is his affiliation with the other people I rode with his back-door into my account? Is my only option to mark all my rides "private"? If so, then I'm the only one who sees them, right?

In vet med, you win some & you lose some. I definitely lost some this week.

BUT that little paralyzed dog from my no-win situation two weeks ago just came in to get her staples removed. Walking! Which is 5 gold stars for this stage post-op considering she had zero spinal cord function pre-op.

Vacation starts tomorrow, I really need it.

Been doing this #30daysofbiking thing. Did it last year, too. As a goal oriented person, it's hard for me not to complete something once I agree (mentally) to it. Still, with wind and rain this week, it's been hard. Did 23 miles today in off and on spitting and high winds, but I have got 9 straight days in. 21 more days to go!

But I have no doubt you did everything you could! That's all you can do.

We're losing our lab tonight at 6. She's falling over and can't get up and you can tell her pain levels are growing exponentially. it's sad, but it's time.

Sorry to hear it. Between here and friends on FB, it appears to be a rough spring for pets.

Oddly, the race dog has had diarrhea off and on recently. She seems normal, no pain, eats and drinks normally.
