It may just be luck, but, while I have had persistent coughing bouts a few times, I've not had an sick-in-bed illess in five or so years.
Meanwhile, it seems like my sister's household (with kids) gets sick about every six months.

I would definitely tell them that they are going to pedal strike and go down. I would also get them behind me so I don't get collected in the crash.

God, that’s horrible! I might say something, but if this place has taught me one thing it’s that he’s probably ridden that way for years, knows exactly what he’s doing, and has strong arguments about why everyone else is gonna die.

I pulled up and asked him if he wanted some unsolicited advice.
"Uh. Sure."
I let him know I watched for several corners, and it's intentional. You're putting your inside pedal down on every corner, and if you corner correctly, you'll strike that pedal, and certainly go down. Raise that inner pedal to 12:00. Then I took the next corner correctly to illustrate, and rode away.

Oh wow. Looking at it now, yeah - *every* curve. It's gonna take some time to re-write that muscle memory.

Current preferred MTB technique Is to keep your pedals at 3 and 9 through all curves. That might simplify things for that guy.
Or if he really wants to drop a foot maybe take him skiing and he should be able to figure out which foot to drop after a day on the slopes.
