$120 in Sacramento, CA. Ross bicycle with what appears to be a full, top to bottom Shimano Arabesque group. I am tempted myself but I have a few unfinished projects on the front burner. https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...1790166045656/

1998 FUJI ALOHA - rare complete original vintage triathalon bike - $500 (Leominster)
Seems like a neat bike. I'm not familiar with these, but given the issues the seller lists, I'd guess it's overpriced. 50MPH, though!
https://worcester.craigslist.org/bik...487383984.html
1998 FUJI ALOHA
Rare complete original triathlon bike. The original components are still on this "barn find" bike. The only changes seem to be the tires and the pedals. This is the first edition of the teardrop tube bike style.
18" aluminum frame in the Papaya orange color.
I really like this bike. It's so nicely put together and everything adjusts so well. A lot of Shimano 105 components, leagues ahead of many of some low-end bikes I work with.
No damage to the frame that I can find, but there are some scratches in the paint.
I took it apart and greased and cleaned it, but no parts have been changed from how I found it. This is being sold as vintage, and should not be seen as a racing bike unless the issues (explained below) are addressed.
The one test ride I did showed that it drives smooth and quick it, riding on glass where you can instantly go 50mph. Like getting into a Ferrari. Not what I'm used to!
So, it's 24 years old, and there are normal age-related issues, with some plastic and rubber fatigue:
The Good:
- Shimano chain is old, but the length is in the "new" category.
- Shimano 105 front and rear derailleurs are in great shape.
- Shimano 105 front and rear brake calipers look good.
- bottom bracket seems to have no issues at all
- Sugino 75 cranks are straight, with only a light scratches
- fork bearings are ok (but see the note on the races)
- seat post is excellent
- seat post clamp is fine
- two sets of water bottle holders are in good condition
- freehub seems ok. (Note that this is not something I know how to check.)
- rear wheel and spokes seem ok
The Bad:
- Sugino 75 sprockets have a couple of pointed teeth, but functional for now.
- Shimano BB-UN52 axle has some pitting in the interior metal. It doesn't seem to be structural, doesn't affect the threads, and still turns normally.
- Shimano Hyper-Glide triple-pinned cassette with aluminum spacers - overall in ok condition. It's solid, but some of the teeth are sharp, and you could think about replacing a couple of the rings.
- rubber o-rings in the wheel hub cover and spacers need to be replaced, but are only protection against dust, and not structural
- both tires are slightly laterally and radially out of true (fixable)
- handlebar elbow rests are rough
- bad and missing handlebar tape
- brake and shifter cables need changing (they do work, though)
- Shimano cable housing may need changing
- Selle saddle is abraded in rear
- some scratches on the frame.
The Ugly:
- front hub may need new bearings. The sealed bearings seem to be rolling a bit rough...maybe it is smooth enough.
- Shimano Ultegra rear hub bearings races have some slight pitting. This can be a serious issue, though it runs fine right now. The bearings are fine (nine per bearing, loose).
- both 650 x 20 tires and tubes need replacing. Front tube is now flat due to a wheel tape issue (long story!).
- a couple front spoke nipples are damaged (spokes are still tight, though), so wheel cannot be trued.
- Shimano 105 brake pads have cracked and dry rubberbicycle frame material: aluminum
bicycle type: track
brake type: other/unknown
condition: fair
delivery available
electric assist: none
frame size: 18" (small)

https://minneapolis.craigslist.org/r...491361621.html
This bike has a 7 speed cassette, (also an upgrade over the 5spd freewheel) stainless steel (or plated?) chain. 700cm alloy rims, stainless spokes, presta valves, Continental tires. Long reach center pull brakes. Paint is faded but mechanically this bike is great.
The head tube date shows a production code of 1638 which I think indicates the 163rd production day of 1978. 1978 was the last production year for the fillet brazed Schwinns. What followed for the midlevel line of road bikes for Schwinn were the made by Giant Le Tours with lugged frames.
Price is firm due to those shifters being kind of an item
Thanks

Schwinn Superior 21 speed bike - $175 (Hamline Midway)
For sale is a Schwinn Superior road bike. This has been updated with newer wheels, shifters, derailleurs etc. You might mistake these for one of the lesser bikes in the Schwinn line, but this is a fillet brazed frame hand-made from chromoly tubing. Sheldon Brown's website has a nice article on how these frames were built. No robotics involved here. 3 piece cotterless crank, and it has the Sun Tour Command Shifters which alone sell on Ebay for $50-75 (these were available in the late 90s as an upgrade component; I don't think they ever came on factory bikes. I bought several sets and installed these on this bike)This bike has a 7 speed cassette, (also an upgrade over the 5spd freewheel) stainless steel (or plated?) chain. 700cm alloy rims, stainless spokes, presta valves, Continental tires.
