Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

With the exception of the KCNC C7s, I think I'm at the point with my bike where everything is upgraded to ideal specs. It took about a year, which was expected.

Although lighter, I'm not convinced the VukaSprints or the new Enve compact bar will be an improvement over the k-wings. So then bars, stem, post, headset, skewers, group, fork, pedals, and cages are done. Could go to carbon rails on the Aliante, but that's not immediate.

All schwag money will be allocated towards the 2013 wheel purchase.

Unless they're paying you, or you're racing on a very competitive level, no one needs $3k wheels.

I anticipate I'll covet the 6.7 clincher more than any other wheel previously coveted. It will be a slow process. First the rims, then Alchemy or CK R45s, and then off to Rob.

You know, it was about 7 years ago that I experienced thunder-snow for the first time ever. It was epic, or so it seemed. Now we see it every winter. It's doing it right now, with this storm in the northeast.

Nobody really knows for sure what's going on, but the extreme weather we've experienced this year is pretty similar to what many scientists have been predicting would occur with global warming. Of course the scientists paid off by industry won't admit it, but there's something abnormal going on here.

By that time Apple will have introduced 78mm 900 gram iWheels for $999.

There won't be time. I saw a new Fiat on the road today. That is surely indicating the end of the world.

Or they put way too much work into it. The real one has a normal 4cyl. "sideways" mounting like others.

Small block v8; the hot rodders' standard. It used to be a 1936 Fiat 500 "Topolino".

The unaltered version looks like this.

The hot rod is very nice, but I like the original look too. Maybe more. I guess I need to have both.

Nope - the original body with the v8 and the drive train.

Pic from my "usual" wednesday club ride this past week, rest stop at WaWa.

p.s. that's not me in the pic, but the Ti frame in the rack closest to you, with the williams wheels, is my bike.

The car sucks in the snow, there's a shock. The Blizzaks are in the shed. Didn't expect a blizzard this soon. Car is undamaged and not in anybody's way, it can sit there for a coupe of days. Hell, I could drive it out of there once the snow melts and things really dry out, but that would take a week.

Geez. It's accumulated down here as well plus the power has fluctuated here a few times. It's strange to see snow on the trees with green leaves still on them. The shop ride to Rockland is still on as of now and I'll still go should they not cancel.

You have a winch on something of your own? Or just for a tow truck?

That's quite a bike rack for a convenience store.

I kind of miss WaWa.

WaWa rules. The places are a goldmine for the owners too, it seems. This one was in Hockessin, Delaware. We rode there from West Chester, PA.

Routes 100 and 82?

Some nice riding in the Brandywine Valley.

I used to live in the Wilmington/Newark area.

The WaWa is on Route 41 in Hockessin. We rode down route 100 and rode back 82.

Good cycling area, definitely. The roads in Delaware are a bit better than Pa, smoother and they don't use that stupid chipseal like Pennsylvania does.

I know that WaWa.

Delaware doesn't have as many roads to worry about as Pennsylvania does.
