Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Nice. Some soundtracks are a stretch, but that one was just cool and right. A very good day indeed.

For @Ramona_W, I went out for a ride on a beautiful, sunny 52° day and felt crappy immediately, no explanation for it. About 11 miles in, I see my wife's car in a parking lot with her getting ready to pull away. Rode over, loaded my bike, and said, “Take me home.” She obliged.

The mind said let's ride and the body said no way.

You would have been so much better off with Uber. Trust me on that one.

Same story this weekend. Sanger gravel didn't happen. Too tired and in pain. March 6th d-day for voodoo Stem cell. L4 & L5 are demolished and getting juiced up. Thought it was just the one but nope it's both

Kudos. I do indeed prefer the black beans. Did you remember to ask for the fajita veggies? They are a fine addition.

p.s. what chain lube is best?

Add in a nasty headache and you have Dengue Fever.

These huge pineapples and mangoes are on in neighboring Tabasco. I also bought a grafted grapefruit tree to plant.

I'm moving into the modern age. Having grown tired of my phone not ever being unlocked in its favorite place, I set up facial recognition. Vamos a ver.

@PepeM, I was walking down the street in Merida this morning. As I passed a young woman in a doorway, she spoke the words 'pato bajo'. Was I being propositioned? Solicited?

Yeah. I was really trying but it just wasn't there. I felt especially bad about it because I overheard the woman who rode with us say to LoP "I was a little worried I'd have trouble keeping up with whoever was here today but now that I see you're riding a tandem..." That always irritates me because we could seriously leave people in the dust going downhill and even on a day like Saturday we're decent going uphill. Whenever I hear people say that it makes me want to leave them in our wake, not look back and not even wave goodbye. That's probably not the best behavior when leading a group ride though.

Were you okay after that?

I'd like to say I'm going to be careful when/if I can get it fixed but my first thought was.. man it would be fun to play adult league lacrosse again.
