Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Wo2W also has a Trek. Not sure on the flappy jersey jersey part.

As for myself, not too many of my jerseys are flappy as we exit winter.

Is there a bracket for Milan-San Remo tomorrow? I am rooting for Sagan.

I don't have a Trek. I would not turn one down if offered one, of course.

I did have a floppy jersey, if anyone recalls, the 100th edition Giro d'Italia jersey was too big. I gifted it to a fellow cyclist, actually the one who loaned/gave me the Reynolds wheels.

Serious question
Spacers are needed sometimes. I worked on a Madone the other day that had an Ultegra crank (Hollowtech bb) and a bb spacer.

So is that effectively a cartridge bb inside there?

Continental's marketers think so, apparently.
I find it difficult to believe they are truly handmade.

The spacer would go between that bearing unit that's partially unscrewed (or maybe pushed out) and the shell face.

A lot of them have limited adjustability because of the length of the spindle, which is integral with the drive side crank. Somebody thought this was a good idea and everyone jumped in line.

Probly rjones or lester knows more than me. I only know I don't want one.
And that will screw into any old bb shell?

Guys. The Domane doesn't have a Hollowtech BB. It has a BB90 that accepts Hollowtech cranksets. This is what a NDS looks like with a BB90 and Hollowtech cranks -

I assumed that I needed a couple few mm additional clearance, but that that's not necessarily a safe assumption as interior of the chainrings were already resting on the frame surfaces. Regardless, subtracting 3mm from the spindle, as seen above, isn't a gamble that I'm going to take.

You and I have the same model Trek, just 18 years apart. I only wear floppy jerseys.

When loaded, there will be 50lbs of trailer attached and a 195lb guy perched on the saddle. I don't imagine that it'll be terribly nimble.

And a longer spindle isn't an option?. I'm sorry if I'm being problematic; it just seems like such a simple solution.

The saddle bags/panniers were sort of my first clue it may not be a good bike for crits.

Yes the wide flared out part that is outside the frame's BB contains the bearings.

This is my preferred bottom bracket type.

I wonder what the rules are for saying a product is handmade? Robots don't make tyres now? I find that hard to believe.

No, the spindle is not a separate piece - the DS crankarm, spider and spindle are all one piece.

Hard to get much worse than now.

Related: I get a message to call the witch doctor about my appointment next week. I call in and the receptionist asks if I want to move my appointment up a day because they're going to move to Maryville.

wut

My other witch doctors were in Maryville. I do not want to drive to Maryville again. What a pain in the butt.

Trek, Specialized, Giant, Cannondale, etal are a good value and all make good solid products
No one should never be ashamed of owning one.

Having said that, I own a lot of boutique products that I’m not ashamed of either anymore than someone owning high end knives, photo equipment, watches, etc.

I saw a few $12k Pinarello K8s, full Super Record, in the Villages in Florida. Assume they were owned by retired dentists.
