I worked at a dealer from 1989 to 1994 where I was told I was not allowed to take a vacation or have any time off as long as the store was open. If I didn't agree they would hire a second guy to split the work (and money) with. In other words, a 50% cut in pay. Eventually they brought in a second guy, so I quit. They called me and said they would fire the other guy if I came back. I went back for a couple years and when they picked up another car line they hired another guy, so I quit for good.
At the last job they were very reluctant to let me have a vacation. One of the 11 managers I had there tried to call me in when I was on a 1 week vacation. I was out riding so he sent a porter to my house to leave a note on the door asking me to come to work.

Anyone can fix cars, and bodies are all they want until they run out of excuses for the tech that shoots a shotgun full of parts at every car. Techs would log on to iATN and list the parts they threw at the car, and the first thing in my mind was... Profit margin was met, at least. Finding a good shop is hard, finding a good dealer service department is even harder.

He looks shorter here than I remember. Could be because the loose jersey makes him look broader. Paralysis is a bum deal, nonetheless.
My best friend and former college roommate recently died. He never recovered functionality on his left side as a result of two strokes 10 years ago. He just slowly, slowly deteriorated. An unenviable existence.

I was blessed to have an uncle that was an automotive whiz. All I had to do was somehow get the car to the city. Without him keeping my cars on the road I could have never afforded commuting 800 miles/week for 21 years using a commercial mechanic. I’m telling you, that was divine intervention right there . . . . . . and the blessings of Toyota.

A case is sometimes required in stubborn cases.

My Passat has 83. Scheduled only but I don't hate the dealer I go to (not the one I bought from). I most likely won't get another VW though, my Passat feels cheap and some little stuff keeps breaking.

Ugh. I just had a visit with a patient who is a nurse (by training) and a covid vaccine denier. She said she has done her research and the immunization does not protect against infection or spreading infection. She says there is NO WAY she is getting the vaccine.
SMH.

The only way I see an avenue where we reach sufficient volume of the population being vaccinated is if there are punitive measures in place for people who don't get one - such as not being allowed in a bar or restaurant or public place. After watching 60 minutes this weekend about the new variants, I'm really pissed at the clowns who refuse to be cautious and stop the spread.

In other words, you either take one for the team, or the team is not doing anything to help you.
But, that will never happen.

Denying insurance coverage for the treatment of deniers would be more realistic and at least provide some schadenfreude goodness.
