Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

i like the look and weight of this post, but thats about it. the clamp sucks. make sure you have hex wrenches with the ball ends (not sure of the technical term) because adjusting the post is a pain. the front bolt is hard to access as it is so close to the actual post. later.

Thanks for the tips, this post was more impulse than any of my recent purchases. I didn't do one spec of research on that post but I had the $50 off $200 or more from PB and decided to use it since I need something with 0 offset. It'll do, hopefully I can set it and forget it and won't have to do too many adjustments.

Specialized gel gloves, the ones I bought with my bike were way too big. Specialized arm warmers, new bar tape, continental inner tube, camelbak podium water bottle with Garmin/Slipstream team graphics, and some Powerbar and hammer gel packs.

Well, just got it today. I had considered for a long time too. It was not until I saw this old guy with one in France that I got pushed over the edge. This thing IS NOT just a rain shell. That is for sure! It may be a while before I use it, but I'm sure I'll be glad I have it when I do.

I should get a spare set. Mine are about a 93% perfect fit, and not sure I have the courage to experiment.

Assos Roubaix Arm Warmers:

good taste! I had the option of the Ergo 2s as well, and I liked the 6.6s better. (I also didn't care for the patent leather look of the E2s, maybe next spring I'll grab some white E2s...Not so garish as the black, IMO) I really prefer the Velcro in the middle over the ratchet...much easier to adjust while pedaling if needed. I took them out this afternoon for about 40 miles and had no issues at all.

I've really fallen for Assos...their stuff is just so nice, durable, and purpose built. These are replacing Pearl Izumis that lasted 4 rides before developing a hole in one of the seams.

I've been shopping for jackets. I want a good rain jacket to replace the one that was stolen, but meanwhile I've been picking up whatever strikes my fancy.

New pink windbreaker ...

New blue winter jacket, new padded, fleece-lined tights, and new winter gloves. It is still winter around here ...

Bought some Castelli leg warmers in L from MEC today. Great purchase. My winter getup is looking quite good.

I have a new bike that I put together this weekend and was doing sea trials with it tonight. Can't wait to post some pics tomorrow.

Washed my Fusione jacket (white) and the colours from the zippers ran into the white. Hoping RealCyclist warranties it so I can get a new jacket. Black this time. One size smaller.

This box arrived from ribble friday (click me)

May be partial user problem. A common problem is IF a GPS sits for an extended period of time with dead batteries and the clock function defaults as a result the unit will loose reference information. On turning on it will be confused as to where it is in the world because they do store a certain amount of information as to what satellites will be in what location on a give day and time to help them acquire satellites faster. Now they will eventually reset from the satellite signal but it may take a while as that information is coming from 20+year old technology and it has a slow feed. Often the quick fix is simply setting its clock and that will allow it to update off the satellites at a much faster rate. I learned that the hard way after not using my old GPSV for several months sending it in and it came back as "no trouble found" and a note saying "if it ever happens again set the clock".

More info right from the source.

After 11 years I got me some Sugoi shorts and bibs again. I do performance on the cheap, Bieme for good ones.. And after 3625 posts I got to post here. I probably have the record here for holding unto jerseys. My 1996 Pearl Izumi jerseys are still in regular service. I may be one of the few to do that and still fit in them.
