datlas IIRC, you’re the one who swears by Halo sweat bands. If so, which model do you use? I’d like to try the 4” Bandit but would want to make sure it fits under a helmet.

The bike is currently on the trainer and I don't seem compelled to do it. However, Spring will come and the bike will come off the trainer and go in to rotation for road riding. At that point, I'll be kicking myself for not doing it when I had loads of time instead of watching Netflix or whatever.

I have a Halo II. Under my Scott helmet it doesn't work (too tight on the sides). It might work with my Ekoi helmet, but I haven 't tried it yet. I don't know if the Bandit is any different in thickness. I use my Halo when I'm on the trainer, and it does a better job than the generic headband I was using before.

I am a lazy bike washer. Standard procedure after a wet/messy ride is shower bike with garden hose, spray chain/drivetrain with citrus degreaser, and re/rinse with hose on “spray” setting. It’s not perfect but good enough and takes only 3 minutes.

Mirrorless is definitely where it's at - very little interest in d/SLR moving forward. The only thing that I don't like vs dSLR is battery life, but you learn to carry two batteries and you're fine.
If you're having trouble moving your EF lenses, you can always get an adapter to use them on a mirrorless body. They'll obviously be bigger than their mirrorless counterparts but it's an inexpensive solution.

See I'd love me a 1DX, but really don't need to be spending money on it right now. Definitely prefer my 5D3 over the R for shooting tri, but we don't do that anymore. Would shoot more if we had a cat. But right now I'm completely uninspired in TX. Hoping CO is a chance for a reset and not acting being outside.

My thought was to get rid of the EF lenses and get two fast zooms to cover the entire 14-200 range. The R stuff is much better suited for travel which is when I do most of my shooting. But, even doing a trade in I couldn't get the 70-200 f2.8 that I would want. So I'm just going to keep it all and maybe pick up the 70-200 before our next fun trip.

Speaking of photos, my wife has been in a décor mood lately, so I squirreled away some landscapes, from the SD trip, without her seeing them. After much internal debate, I got one printed on canvas and made a frame for it out of white oak (her current favorite wood tone).
(white balance on this pic is all effed up and the colors are washed, but I'm happy with the colors as printed)
Edit: oh, here's the pic -

Long Day.
Simons birth went well. He is a pretty chill baby so far. Doesn’t cry much at all. Wife is doing well. I think they will have her start walking soon.
Brought the daughter home and had dinner, bath time, story time and put her to sleep.
Immediately, took the carbon wheels and pads off the ritchey, but the standard pads on, put the mavic front wheel on and threw it on the trainer. Hope to get about 20 miles tomorrow morning before 630am. Have to wake the daughter up and get her ready for school. Neighbor is taking her and then I will go back to the hospital. Hoping when I pick her up at lunch time the bike will be ready. Her school is right by the bike shop.
Not sure why I want to pick it up so bad, it’s not like I can ride it.
