Ok I know I've already posted this but I've fixed it up more now. I painted the helmet myself.

you spend $130 more to lop off 137g
that is about a dollar a gram
trade off is you have to brake earlier. i had to change my braking style a bit. i use it and have no problems with it. it works the few times i had to do emergency braking. not expecting to stop on a dime but the distance to come to a stop is short enough. it saved my life on two occassions.
if you are installing it yourself be careful with the torque or you might strip the bolt. also, the washer that clamps on the cable has a very small surface area, so be careful when you clamp the cable. you will most likely clamp on most of the cable, but do not overtorque or you might cut through the cable. do it slowly and do not rush if you are going to DIY.
to me it is worth the expense.

I just recently purchased Lemond Reno's for my wife and I. They came with the Bontrager Select wheels, which are shown on the next model up (Tourmalet). We've both ridden mtn.bikes for years, these are our first road bikes, and so far we are really enjoying them. Thought we'd get them for a break from mtn.biking, and for when the trails are wet or muddy. But I'm liking it so much that I could become a full-time roadie!

I don't want to be accused of being the latest BD shill so I'll just post a pic of my new bike (Mercier Serpens LTD with full Ultegra) and say that I am VERY happy with it thus far.
