Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Also have a fondness for California beaches, but not so much for swimming.

Daughter spent her first year post-college on South Caicos. Couple of flights a week, one rundown hotel, no tourists, fantastic diving if you're hooked up. Our kind of place.

Obviously not. I went there for Speedweeks, not building sand castles.

More good pics are coming in from the event in Fla.

Nice capture of an F-35 blowing smoke rings:

Being upholstered in Anglo-Celtic phosphorescent white skin that starts to bubble and smoke in sunlight, like Christoper Lee at the end of many Dracula films, I'm not that big a fan of beaches, at least not the ones where one doesn't dress in long sleeves and maybe a sweater.

Sometimes when I drink from a pop-top can, like a Coke can, moustache hair will get caught in the pop top and rip out of my lip when lowering the can. It makes a distinctive "twang" when it happens.
When I was working certain uniform shirts have a snap instead of a button at the collar. These snaps are good at ripping beard hair out when you turn your head suddenly. A guy I worked with would rip the snaps out of his shirts and sometimes the uniform company would replace them.

It just reminded me of when I had long hair and I would roll under a car on a creeper and my hair would get tangled in the creeper wheels. At that point you are stuck and can't roll either way. The way out was to get off of the creeper while under the car and slide out.

I used to have an Aussie friend who, I swear to god, only cut his hair and trimmed his beard twice a year. I think he was influenced by sheep shearing. Anyway, he didn't trim his moustache or beard AT ALL in between, so it all got really long. When he ate soup, the moustache would redirect a couple drops from each spoonful that ran off the ends of his moustache into his beard. EVERY SPOONFUL. It was horrific.

No alcohol sales at bars and restaurants on Thanksgiving eve starting at 5 pm. Guess I’ll have to have a liquid lunch.😀

UP 4021, cruising westbound through Weber Canyon, UT. Oscar Meyer Boxcar in there!

Emil Albrecht, August 25th, 1951. Before Interstate 84, obviously.

And we get a shot of the caboose, too!!!!
