Coffee science question: I have a burr grinder and the static charge it puts on the coffee makes it fly out of the little receptacle, stick to the housing of the grinder, and get all over the counter. However, I have recently discovered that if I set it one tick finer than the usual grind I used for the drip machine at home, no charge. When I grind it coarse for the French press on the boat, I don’t think it’s that that sticky either, but it’s been a few weeks and I’m not sure.
Anyway, why does a small change in grind make such a difference?

This reminds me that I haven't used the pour-over in a while... maybe I'll have a good ol' fashioned cuppa joe tomorrow.

You are looking at $2500 for Force, 3500 for Red. Roughly. And it effects everything, wheels, bottom bracket,...well, not the headset. But that's groupo, still need to get wheels for the disk brakes.
Now, I didn't pay that, I shopped around on EBay and got lucky. I should be all in under $3500.
I got tangled up with a post mount (disk brakes) frame. That caused me a little trouble. I ended up buying a set of Red post mount calipers. No one makes adapters! There isn't enough room on the frame apparently. There is one co. But New old calipers was just easier. I
Then the wonderful folks at Sram decided we needed another bottom bracket standard. So now we can all try and figure out Dubb. The new axle is 28.9mms dia. Basterds. I sti ok working on that one.

My frame started life as an o.s.bb. That wAs factory converted to bb30. I am under the impression I need to remove the bearings, and press in a bb86 dub. I'm not sure though. There isn't a lot of info out there and some is contradictory.
On the brighter side, I just learned I have to replace my free hub with some sort of proprietary sram free hub , xdr, thing, another hunerd bux. I have no idea if the even make one for the Chinese wheel I was going to buy.
I have to say I'm a bit disappointed in Sram, sure seems like they went out of their way to make this as difficult as they could.

I believe in letting the folks who are affected by a problem deal with the problem. Those who are not affected, well, not so much. An example is gluten. If you have a problem with it, then don’t eat it. But that number is so vanishingly small, no way it should result in the hyper-inflated gluten fear we see now in the USA. I don’t have the problem, so I ignore it. Pretty much the same situation with sensible, low-to-moderate intake of refined carbs.

As I understand it, it only works if you take it with Prevagen. Something about the jellyfish. Don’t ask me. I just believe what I hear.

That grosses me out, and that is saying something. Too repetitious. Now, OTOH, an egg-nog (read brandy, rum or bourbon)-flavored cheesecake sounds pretty good.

Speaking of rum, have I ever mentioned that bottled gold from Venezuela known as Diplomatico 12 yr. old. For sipping...or guzzling. Not for cooking or mixed drinks. I swear it will change your life. And as you guys know, I do not make that type of recommendation lightly.

Regarding getting old...
My cancer center has this huge parking lot* and I always park way out and walk in so the more infirm can get parking places up close. So, last Friday as I was making the hike in, I marveled at how some of us grow old and decrepit before our time and others seem pretty darn active despite our age. I put a little more spring in my step and counted my blessings.
*big enough that they have a shuttle service, picking up people and dropping them off between their cars and the front door.

Yes. One of my grandsons was diagnosed with Ankylosing spondylitis at age 12 or so and it bothers me to watch him walk. I worry for his future.

Not to mention that many of these people are in the poor condition they suffer because of neglect and laziness all their lives.
What always amazes me is the people who come to the gym and cruise back and forth looking for a parking spot as close to the front door as possible. "HELLOOOO, you're here to get some exercise, why not get started by a walk from the back of the parking a lot. Duh!! " SMFH
