Soma Rush vs Cinelli Tutto
Looking to grab one of these framesets and build a solid single-speed daily commuter.
Aesthetics aside, which one would you pick and why? (I could get the Tutto for less money than Rush)

How are getting a Tutto for less money than a Rush?! The Tutto will be a more flexible platform with belt drive capabilities, wider tire clearance, mounts for canti and V brakes.

I'm a bit biased as I own a Rush, but I find the Cinelli pretty ugly. I think if you need things like wider tire clearance, canti mounts and the option for belt drive, than yeah I guess get the Cinelli. Personally, I run 28s on my Rush with no desire to go bigger and I don't ever see wanting canti's or a belt drive.

I've never thought much of the Tutto/Mash Work frames, tbh. Supposed to be a do-everything frame, but doesn't have fender mounts. Features belt drive compatibility, which is pointless extra cost for 99% of users. Its main draw is that you can take off the canti studs and make it look like a cool, clean track bike. Big pile of meh.

Your cog is slipping.
Because as I've already said, they're two entirely different bikes. Apples and onions.
The Rush has tight track geometry and uses a 1" threaded headset & quill stem, and the Tutto is all stretched out with a wacky long top tube, clearance for huge tires, removable cantilever brake mounts and useless belt-drive capability. For a single speed commuter, you're better off with a Surly Steamroller.

I think the belt drive is silly but I like the old Mash Work frame. It has been a great ride and looks rather nice. I have mine set up with TRP Revox Canti Brakes and drop bars with a NItto Rando Rack in the front and 38c tires. Also it has a dynamo which I love. Though I think the Steamroller is a good option as well and one I have considered.

What? In no way am I defending the Tut, I’m just asking what measurements are you referring to? I’ll go with the Soma since it looks better and I don’t see myself going chainless.

Your cog is slipping.
Not sure what chart you're looking at but the size large has a 52cm seat tube and a 55cm top tube measured center-to-center. That's pretty wacky when compared to traditional track geometry.

I was comparing a size M Tut with a size 53 Soma. Soma only states their seat tube C-T, so I have no knowledge of what the C-C measurement is.
Soma:
Seat tube (C-T) / 530mm
Top tube (C-C) / 536mm
Tut:

I'll never understand why bike companies continue to insist on giving us C-T seat tube measurements. You can tell more about the frame from the head tube length, which is the same at the sizes you're looking at, but pretty short at the larger sizes for the Tutto. Kinda hard to tell what they're going for. Also, if you want to get into steel nerd stuff, the main triangle of the Rush is Tange Prestige, which is arguably a nicer tubeset than the Tutto's Columbus Cromor.
