That’s a natural question and this stuff is not very intuitive. The “endpoint” of the trials which led to the Emergency Use Authorization of the vaccines was prevention of clinical disease. That’s the lowest bar for a vaccine to clear. It would have also been a huge undertaking to do repeated testing of such huge study groups and they didn’t do it. Therefore, the question of whether the vaccines prevent infection, per se, has had to wait for studies like this. One thing I’ve learned recently is that many effective vaccines actually don’t.

It's looking like the rain won't be a problem today, so I should get in a ride. It's not looking like it's going to be great, by any means - mid 40s and partly sunny - but that's better than high 30s and non-stop rain.

I get my first dose on the the 7th. Good luck. I get the Pfizer shot. Hoping for minimal reaction.
Of my family members in PA, only my kid brother had any substantial reaction. He was tired after both shots. My 82 year old mom did fine. I can't wait to see my family. I am hoping to visit in June.
