Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

This thread needs more animal content.

Dory's taken to stealing Rango's bed, both in the living room and back in our bedroom. For some reason, he mostly lets her get away with it.

I ordered a pair of 40 cm wide bars as an experiment for the zwift set up. I have 42s on it now and still get numb hands. But it is better than my out door bikes with 44cm bars. My hands go numb frequently, and I'm sick of it. So Im going to try what Coach Scott on you tube suggests. To wide of a bar bends the wrists, which mine do. I m starting to think he's right and that's the problem. Time will tell.
Which fingers are going numb? Makes a difference.

Hmmm. So, basically being held together by the chain and the derailleur cables.

All he needs is a ritchey breakaway clamp. Problem solver.

Rode with the top tube bag once on the madone, and trainsnorter was right. Luckily it only blemished the finish on the top tube right by the head set and no where else. Tried washing and waxing hoping that it would help but it didn’t. Work called me today, and told me to stay home so I plan on doing a longer ride tomorrow. With the cervelos chain done, and the ritchey is now pedal less (garmin is swapping the pedals), I’ll be doing it on the madone. This brings me back to the problem of where do I put my stuff. I tried putting the back light on my helmet and putting a saddle bag on, but it would just scruff the finish on the mast, so I decided to wrap the top tube in plastic wrap and throw the TT bag back on.

I have a sticker ordered to go over the blemish.

Went to the LBS today because I had nothing else to do. The have a 58 emonda alr 5 in stock in my size, I think I might test ride it tomorrow when I go pick up a chain. Really makes me consider selling the cervelo to by the emonda. According to blue book my bike is worth about the price of the emonda, but at the end of the day it’s only worth what someone will pay for it. I wouldn’t sell it with the super team wheels, or the carbon stem, or the power meter or pedals. I still have the original wheels which prolly only have about 2000 miles on them. I really don’t feel like taking all that stuff off just to take pictures of it though.

AFAIK, checkers with 0.5 didn't even exist till at least 10 speed. All the old ones only do 0.75 and 1. So, you're right.

Mostly by the head tube/top tube junction. Stays are all on the rear suspension. I was very lucky that I stopped twice and checked the noise. Sounded like a chain noise, first stop I couldn't find anything. Second time I lifted it up by the saddle and it pulled apart. Time to walk.

I was going to post an enlarged pic of the camel with naked guy highlighted, but I don’t want to anger the mods. Look at left (front shoulder) of camel. Or Google naked guy camel cigarettes and click on images.

I thought everyone knew about this.

Oh, Monticello is not as wide/expansive as one would think from the image on the nickel. Here are pics from today’s visit.

In high school I took a course on propaganda that included a look at subliminal advertising. The teacher showed us an ad for a woman’s swimsuit. It was Jansen or Janson. The photo was from the waist down. The woman was sitting in the sand. Drawn in the sand you could see a man’s face looking up at the woman’s crotch.

I'm really hopefully. The explanation he gives makes lot of sense. I used to ride 42cm and went wider to give me more leverage climbing. But after the accident I lost 1.7 cm in shoulder width, so that may have been the wrong thing to do. I've had numbing problems ever since.
