Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

It must be the Saturn. I think he feels oppressed that he can't cuss out his Saturn using that term.

I've long been a numbers geek and I think it becomes a detriment. With the PM on the Crockett now, I have a screen that has Power, Speed, Distance in three big windows up top with HR and Cadence in two small windows below. I wear a wristwatch (old school) for basic time keeping. And even with all that, I find that ignoring the Garmin is best. The most fun I had riding bikes back in the day was doing a set loop and racing against my wristwatch.

Guilty as charged. I don't know why, but it really rubs my fur the wrong way.

I understand the "authorities' " need for something like this to keep inflammatory posts to a minimum, but it's really a blunt instrument and if you want to be mean there are plenty of ways to do so without using inflammatory words anyway.

That said, the dude abides.

There was a car forum (not the Saturn Forums) that swapped "kill yourself" to "I love you man". It got weird when someone got a new high-power rear-wheel-drive toy of some sort and was told "don't I love you man".

I hate censors.

I'd honesty rather have it reject comments until you remove the offending word. There's something super creepy about writing one thing and having another thing appear with your name on it. **** the censor.

Also those people who are just dicks.

Despite snow/ice piled up along the route* and an ailing foot, Velo Vol HTFU and earned a walking achievement.

I don't know what it is about this area, but recently I've been seeing people talking out loud to themselves. Saw two this evening.

Walk highlight: passed a house that still has its Christmas tree glowing in the living room.

OR . . . they could do away with the censor altogether and let everybody say whatever the **** they want. Then only the French shower-bags will be here and the forum will swiftly become just like the Saturn forum. Sounds like a plan.

All in favor???

I'm confused by all this Crockett talk. It says Trek right on the downtube

UPS seems to be quite reliable around here.

Maybe it's because there is a distribution hub at the Rockford airport. It's super handy most of the time if I buy something expensive and I don't want it to sit on my front porch 25 miles away when I'm at work. I've re-routed a lot of stuff there.

Unfortunately the new MTB frame did not give me that option . Must be a Bikeflights thing.

But my wife is off work tomorrow so she can grab it
