Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

How about better-than-PBK pricing on complete group sets? You guys seem to have a pretty good line on Shimano stuff. Shipping should be less from here in the States, so maybe it could happen.

Wheels? Already mentioned, and an excellent idea.

High quality TT helmets? Buy 100 and sell them to us. The season will be upon us soon enough.

Stuff like that.
+1 Agreed. Could you try to use your wholesale pricing / networking / whatever to get better deals on whole groups? Shimano, SRAM, Campagnolo - whatever you can get.

What's the weight on that frame for, say, a 54 cm?

1 or 4 decal-less and offered up to 64cm.
Groups at cheaper than PBK would also be nice.

I plan on spending between 1000 and 1500 this Christmas on a complete bike, so something in that range would be great.

I hate you Mike! My budget for bikes has already been used up! Please don't tempt me with something else! No, seriously, please stop the temptation. I'm sooo weak.

Oh, and to answer your question, I'd be most interested in: 3, 4, and 7.

If you truely want 7 to go off, you might want to post it up in the MTB section or MTBR, particularly in the "save some weight" section or "deals" section. CF frames seem to be snatched up quickly, I'd imagine Ti would go too.

As noted in the previous Ti cyclocross thread, I could go for # 8, although I would wait in favor of a # 8 with dual disk brakes.

#4 is my first choice, but then I'd be happy with #1 and #2, in that order.

As well as the previously mentioned RACE WHEELS, I agree with the other poster who mentioned TT helmets.

I realize that you specialize as a retailer of complete bikes, but if a person buys a TT bike, they might need wheels, helmets, and possibly new bars in order to really complete their purchase. Why not sell them what they want?

Just something to think about.

Not that there's anything wrong with SRAM, but I'm hoping you aren't going to buy a new product that hasn't been out there that long just because of the weight. I sure wouldn't want to be a beta tester for them, after seeing what happened with some Force RD's.

How about a #3 with a geometry for the majority of riders who have no intention of ever racing.

Bring back the Sports Tourer!!! Extra points for a steel fork!

I've been on SRAM a couple times, loved it - and I'm hoping to make the 'leap' with a new build. Currently on Ultegra, which is still nice for what it is. In terms of the things that have been happening with the RD on Force, it turns out it is a matter of adjustment on installation - if properly installed, it apparently doesn't happen. If the RD is installed by a mechanic who is making assumptions based off of Shimano installations, apparently then you get the problems. Let's put it this way: more than a few pro-level teams race with SRAM drivetrains - yet we didn't hear (or see) this problem at all, even during Le Tour. Why? Because those team mechanics knew WTF they were (and are) doing.

This issue, discussion, and solution has been addressed many times before in these forums.

But, I was referring to the large amount of warranty claims that SRAM had with the initial batches of their Force RD. A bolt/pin kept on breaking, sending the derailleur crashing into the spokes, and sometimes cracking frames.

[QUOTE=celerystalksme;5512252]...is it a good mountain bike?QUOTE]

I own a Moto Fly 9357 and it sucks! dont go with this option!

Ahhh just kidding, im just saying that because i'd rather go with option 9. Honestly, the Moto Fly 9357 is a great bike, it makes me wish i did more mountain biking. I bought it with the intention of putting slicks on it and using it as a fast commuter bike but the thing is so fast i did a couple road rides with it got numerous second looks by guys on their road bikes as i passed them. As far as being a good mountain bike, i dont ride that much offroad so i couldnt tell ya, but it is definately a lightweight and the components are awesome. I love the hydraulics.

How about a street fixie similar to Surly Steamroller with an inexensive build, wide tires and room for fenders, front brake with mini lever; leave off the pedals and seat. Tig welded steel would be perfect. It should probably be black.

Where are these large amounts? Ive seen a few people mention it on other forums but never met anyone that it has personally happened to and polling the shops I frequent locally, they've never seen it either.

If it was indeed a large amount, surely it would have warranted a recall on the part.

I'd like to see a combo of items for a Xmas sale but it would have to include option 6 (CF naked frameset), preferably at the orig Group Buy price of $469 for fork and frame. Although I'd like to see a decent headset pre-installed as well like Cane Creek, FSA, etc... for a few bucks more. Chris King would be cool but a bit too pricey for me.

That's my $.02

Thanks!
Gary
