I took out the Stumpjumper hardtail and cranked a lap of the 24-hour course with my heavy tires. Wouldn't you know it, there was a cross-country running race going on, so my lap time wasn't quite what I'd like, but whatever... it was certainly good training one way or the other. Average 177bpm, max 189bpm, that sort of thing.

3 days of riding, mid 70s temps, got some chicken on the grill what a good weekend. Even started making a new trail.

That was the Spokane River Run. It's pretty large event and has distances from 5k to 50k. Many years ago a few buddies and I was riding the 7 mile area during that race and the Army Guard was playing games that same day. Made for a busy place, guys in camo hiding in the woods, helicopters over head. There was even a few explosions going on. One of the runners probably hit a trip wire

3 good rides: Thursday nite, Sat afternoon & Sunday afternoon, all 3 at perfectly-conditioned Buffalo Creek.
Had some good carrots to finish up y-day!
My legs are officially toast.

I love that even doing this after being in the woods all of fifteen minutes, he is still grinning.

Tonight after work, it was very pleasant out. I jammed out to Beacon Hill and met up with Tim and Mike for an XC-ish ride, then jammed home and made some supper We didn't have to fire up the lights until the last 20 minutes.

At the last moment, I saw that the Tuesday-Night Ride was a go, so I rode out to 7-Mile pretty fast, and did the TNR with a couple guys. We did the 24-hour course, had to fire up the light systems about halfway through. Then I cruised home at a brisk pace. Now it's time to stuff my face guilt-free

Quick Saturday ride became a 4 hour epic! Anyone else ever taken a new trail thinking, HEY, this should get me back to some pavement? Went out to watch the Xterra Tri this morning. So good to see a Tri with MTBs, not roadies!

Did my first group ride (more than two of us) yesterday all over some local hills. It was short but lots of fun.

I think we need a 'trail-eats-bike' gallery . . .

Good weekend of riding until some 30 mph winds started pushing me off the trail. I couldn't get off the top of Bur Sage fast enough. But the legs are feeling good. Climbing in better gears, feels good.

I know how you feel Daspydyr. I'm not doing that many miles, but still my riding just seems a lot easier and less painful than when I started.

Someone get it started. It belongs to the MTBers. Roadies can get some frightening rashes, but we get some killer wooden structures, rocks and cliffs. There should be a monthly award for the best taco!
