About to straddle my mountain bike on my motor bike & go on my first real ride since weather here became unbearable (June). We've got a nice cold front & 80 degree weather at the moment so I'm taking advantage at the Horse Park. Haven't been there since early May. I'll update later.

Chris got another video up...riding at Fernie.

I got one up too but I'm having issues getting stuff online (damned slow up speeds with the broadband). And YouTube lost all sound part way through the vid. Working at getting another online with complete music and in HD.

Just got back. It's amazing how much muscle is lost in two months of inactivity. But the weather is amazing & I'm moving to Atlanta within the next month (much closer to the mountains, & a wider variety of trails ) so hopefully I can work on that. I also wasn't expecting the crowd. I should have been...it's Labor Day weekend. But I wasn't. It's unusual to see three people there on a normal day at any given time, & today the parking lot was full. Lots of walkers who didn't understand that these trails are for bikes only. No real problem with them though--they could hear me coming & got out of the way. My biggest upset was the abundance of people who thought the one-way single track would be more fun backwards. With signs every 100 yards or so telling you where to go, there was no real excuse for that except pure negligence for the signs. Still a good ride though. Hoping to get out there more after I move & have access to some real mountain bike trails instead of just central-Georgia's glorified walking trails.

And never, I hope you understand how lucky you are to have access to any kind of DH trails. Flat land XC is getting boring.

Don't worry...I've lived and biked in flat places...with mountains a lot further away than where you are now!

Yeah I'm looking forward to moving to Atlanta & having Blanket's Creek just a half hour north. Best trails in the Atlanta metro area up there. I'm also very grateful to have mole hills & creek valleys where I'm living now to keep things semi-interesting & covered with trees. But it's easy to covet those of you up north that have even just one DH resort with a lift system in your state/province. Maybe next spring I'll have enough money saved up to take a trip to Sugar Mountain.

Finally, the Kicking Horse video available in HD with full sound (I think, everything is slow for me right now so I haven't checked it all yet):

I finally got out for a little shred...(only 3 times since Colorado)...I find it difficult to motivate myself to ride KS trails after seeing what's really out there.

After living in WA state since 1996 I also wondered how I survived the 8 years of off road riding in Wichita. Yesterday I did a two hour ride around Riverside State Park and took the big climb to the top of Pine Bluff were I took the self portrait.

I rode on a trail for the first time since JUNE today! It was brutal, 90+ degrees plus 60% humidity made it like a sauna. I am very out of shape but it was great to get back out on the bike. I hope everyone is getting to ride also! The good weather is just around the corner, sort of. The rootbeer SS is going 1x9 pretty soon oh boy, oh boy!

BTW, never: just saw the vids yesterday . . . didn't realize you had them up. Nice! Gonna have to get to the 'other places' next year. You must be close to having some Sun Peaks and Whistler footage to put up?

Ahhhhh...yeah. I hope to have the footage from Chris this weekend so I can actually do something with it!

We're riding Silver Star this weekend so I should be able to get it all then. I just hope I can ride though...have a bad ankle sprain...good thing for Ibuprofen and tensor bandages.

^Why bother using the ample trunk space when it looks so much cooler to drop $250 on a hitch rack & put your 5-year-old's bike on it? I bet they're in there drugging their kids with lattes & muffins.

Working on the new (to us) house, work, a couple brief rides, and shooing the cats out of the boxes has occupied my time lately. Riding is taking a backseat for a bit, while we work on things. Start painting this week, and a mini-kitchen renovation after. Ought to be moving in late October/early November. Have our apartment until end of November. Nice to be able to do all this crap with the place empty!
