Oh my....

I just checked on the wheels that were held hostage in Texas.

USPS shows that they made it to the proper delivery Post Office and are "Out for Delivery".

Totally disagree. We ride MUP as a club in a double pace line at slow speed because its the best way to get from the shop out of town to routes where we can ride a normal pace. Our alternative is to take a lane of a road during rush hour traffic, which we are willing to do when that makes the most sense for the route in question. The point being, we are trying to be balance the needs of multiple users of our various means of getting around town- drivers on roads and walkers/runners/solo cyclists on MUPs and ourselves out on an organized group ride. Maybe it works in our town because our MUPs are pretty wide- we have two lanes of bike traffic and a separate pedestrian lane. Additionally, riding in a double pace line does not mean that you are using the MUP as a race course- you can actually ride a double pace line at an intentionally slow pace as conditions dictate.

In our case, if you wanted to know what club you were looking at in their double pace line, you could just look at the kit, it would be pretty easy to figure it out (provided you know how to read).

Sorry we are not morons. Of course the layout of your MUPs might be different or your clubs might only hammer.

It is very pleasant. This is our first time sailing for a couple of days just to get to a single destination. Our previous cruises were all of the new place every morning type with one sea day occasionally thrown in. But we enjoy sea days as well as port days, so it has been very relaxing. Celebrity is fairly priced, has excellent service and pretty decent food. Lots of daily activities. A great vacation.

For mass market grocery stores we have Wal Mart, Meijer and the regional chain. The regional chain and Meijer are the preferred of those three. We also have a Whole Foods not too far away. Fortunately, Mrs. Doug28450 is in the Whole Foods stores several day each week so we are able to stay pretty stocked up on good food.

Here as well. I think that is nationwide. Oddly, when they put stuff on sale, it is generally priced lower than the mass market stores. The problem is being able to watch the sales and being able to capitalize on them whey they show up.

Terminology question: I think of a double paceline as two side by side lines, with lead riders dropping back to the outside. This means that at times, the group is four bicycles wide. Does your MUP can accommodate that safely, or am I misapplying terms?

On board ship this morning my SIL and I attended a Riedel wine glass comparison event. Both of us have had Riedel for years, and have really like them pretty much just for looks and simplicity. In fact we both unloaded our Waterford cut crystal on ebay when we saw how attractive the Riedel was. But I don't think either of us really bought into the "grape specific" marketing hype. We just like them. But after today we are true believers. We were amazed by difference the right glasses made when matched to a selection of wine varieties. The proper glass suppressed the unattractive characteristics of each wine and really enhanced the desirable aspects. I was very impressed.

We had to pay $87 each for the event, but each admission came with a coupon for four free glasses to be ordered online. So the deal was much better than break even. Four glasses is just about what we need to fill in holes in our collections due to breakage.

Indeed they can. I think I have a pic somewhere and I'll try to post it.

The point is that ours is a varied group but the ride leader is a sane, responsible adult. Usually we hear something at the start of a ride like, "We'll be heading out along XYZ bike path, easy pace until we get out of town". Runners, walkers, single cyclists are all called out and greeted as we pass. No one is an a$$hole and this is 100% by mandate of the club.

Our briefly using the entire bike path is zero difference than the high school cross country team who was taking up the entire MUP as I rode home from coffee this morning. They saw me coming and moved aside to make room for enough room for me. Did I get bent that they were not running single file in the pedestrian lane? Nope. Because we all live in the same town and there's plenty of space on the MUPs.

No, you are thinking of the freeway-exit convenience store chain, Buckee's whose logo is, in fact, a beaver. They are huge and have huge loads of merchandise for folks that need to stop to relieve themselves and then can't resist a little purchase of useless goods. But no one would ever confuse them with supermarkets.
