p.s. it's a lot easier to eat 1000 calories than it is to burn it.

Started in July 2010; cut my diet drastically, started cardio.
07/10 - 11/10 - Recumbent Exercise Bike
12/10 - 03/11 - Nordic Skiing
04/11 - Walking and new Recumbent Exercise Bike (old one broke)
05/11 - 08/11 - Bicycling!
I'll keep bicycling until I am no longer able to due to the weather, then I'll switch to skiing again.

Back a couple of months ago I was riding down a back road. I came up to two police cars on the side of the road with two officers and another man. As I approached at approx 100 feet away one cop said to the other, "Hey look, it's Lance Armstrong". He said it loud enough for me to hear. The other police officer had his back towards me and turned around to look just as I approached. As I passed I gave them a hand gesture and just kept on going. I think about this a lot. Don't regret it a bit! Don't ever let anyone put you below them, no matter who they are.

Gotta say it, I rode in my first organized ride this year on last Sunday. A 25 miler across the Coronado Bridge in San Diego and down the silver strand.
The year has done wonders for my pace. After the first couple miles of crossing the bridge, I probably passed 20 riders for every one that passed me.
