Yes, but you do have to replace the housing every so often because it gradually loses its non-compressibility and shifting gets non-crisp. You can do your bar tape at the same time. I replace cables once a year-ish, or whenever they start to break, and housing about every other time.
thanks.

Got in a nice eightytuesday ride. Obnoxiously windy at times, but beautiful fall weather, otherwise.

Edit....After reading a few more replies, it seems 1/year is on the lower end of expected lifetimes, but not totally unreasonable.

A friend of mine had a San Rensho Super Record Export Aero or some such with the aero shifters. Totally sweet bike.
Here is a link to one sold here on BF last year. FS 3Rensho Super Record Export Aero

I lusted for a San Rensho bitd. It was way out of my budget, as was an Eisentraut and a De Rosa. Some of my friends had De Rosas, so that made them less appealing but nobody in my circle even knew about San Rensho or Eisentraut. When Dave Tesch came out with a lower cost tig welded frame, that's what I got.
In fact, I saw an old pic just the other day.

The pic that I found recently was a red frame but I don’t remember if it was the first frame or the second frame.

Wow. It's been six years since that epic ride to Mexico with RollCNY and our faithful guide Pedro.
