I'm just starting out with overnight touring, so nothing complicated here. I took this set up on a weekend trip to the big and small "Makhtesh" pictured.

Off Road Loaded Birdy
Took the Birdy off roading (San Francisco Bay salt marshes) this weekend. Two loaded front Ortlieb panniers plus a folding table and two folding chairs strapped to the rear rack. Handled like a champ aside from sharp steep uphill turns in very low gears which caused the rear tire to dig in.

Looks like a nice setup for a relaxing afternoon picnic.

Gotta say I am really digging the new school combo of front rack/panniers with frame bags and oversized seat bag bag. Sort of a nice in-between ultralight vs fully loaded touring.
This is me a couple weeks ago on my AWOL Comp going ultralight for an overnighter in the desert. After this I just put a Tubus Tara Big Apple lowrider on with some Ortlieb City Rollers (not pictured). Because it turns out touring with a backpack sucks!

Been working great for the past 4 weeks/2300km. I had to take the second photo, forgot to remove the helmet.

After a few days of commuting and a 6 days touring with it my thoughts are:
- Reasonable price. Banjo brothers is cheaper, everything else more expensive.
- Nice build quality. Feels burly.
- Stayed dry. I had multiple days with a few hours of steady rain. I don't think it is officially "waterproof" but things inside were in good shape.
- Good zippers which have nice little "hoods" to keep rain out.
- Expandable is nice, although it is a bit finicky when collapsing back up.
- Found the pocket arrangement to be very nice. Left pocket for pump (Road morph G)/levers/patches, main pocket held ulock/cable in back section, and phone/tubes/tools/lights in front section. Outside mesh pocket made for very handy multi-tool storage or a bit of food.
- Lots of places to attach.
Biggest downside to me is that all these features add up to a pretty heavy package. I'm not much of a weight weenie but YMMV here.
I also wish it came in a few more sizes to get the perfect fit on my large frame.
In action...
