No, it's a standard NoCom fork, if saying that isn't an oxymoron.. All of the NoComs I know of have a disc brake in front. That said, it's uncommon in almost every aspect. It has 80mm between dropouts, it's assymetrical (the missing 20 mm are on the chain side,) it has no rake, and the crown is very short. The dropouts are closed to avoid having the brake pull the wheel out of the fork during hard braking, and the disc caliper is mounted on the bottom, not rear, of the fork. Below shows more details. This was taken after I repaired a few cracks, since buying a replacement was just not possible. The repairs have held up for 5 years, so I think I'm good!

This excluses bike polo, in which they do actually serve a purpose.
Actually, plastic spoke covers work pretty well and don't weigh much more, if any, than carbon. Covering the spokes gives a lenticular wheel, which actually outperforms a flat disk in a lot of real-world circumstances. Now, if you're talking about those bolt-on covers for BMX wheels, then yeah...

I was thinking of trying to make a set of covers for a rear wheel just for something to try. I ride a lot on a circuit where I used to participate in a time-trial, and although it is no longer being held, I still time myself around it now and then, so it would be interesting to see if covers for the rear helped with the time around the circuit at all.

they certainly should by cutting down on rear wheel turbulence and associated drag.

I am talking about the bolt on BMX wheels and the stuff people make and zip tie on to their spokes. It is only good for polo.

Sweeping generalizations are ALWAYS a bad idea.

My only experience with disk wheels was picking one up that was on display at REI co-op in the '90s.

It was HEAVY.

Disk. This older disk is actually quite heavy. Not very practical imo

John Tomacs old bikes had discs, so did Deadly Nedly's

Several of my track bikes have disc wheels

One of my old track bikes that belongs now to WallytheWhale had an aluminum honeycomb core disc
