Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

No wonder. It's not Wolf's Creek, it's Wolf's Hollow County Park. Worth riding through next time you are in the area.

I haven't ridden in the Atglen area in ages. Maybe 1998 during Pedal PA. We had lunch at the park in Gap and then stopped for ice cream somewhere around Parkesburg.

Speaking of buzzing, an E-bike buzzed me last night riding up 40 by the Mother Cabrini's Shrine turn off.

I love riding in the city simply because I can hear the **** that's on the roads that I'm otherwise insulated from in my truck. Misfires, grinding brakes, stuff like that. There's nothing like the smell of burning brakes on Lookout in the evening....

Is your traffic worse than before? This year has been the worst it's ever been out here. Round trip to work is faster by bike for me now that the CU kids are back and school is in session.

Traffic in my area is positively AWFUL of late. They keep building more and more homes and corporate centers in my township. Sad!

Traffic here is abominable and gets worse every year, but we are fortunate enough to have been able to buy our way out of it.

On the subject of traffic, I have to smfh every time I drive down a certain stretch of freeway - there's a billboard that reads, "Stuck in traffic?! We need more lanes! Call your congressman!" It was put up by the folks that oppose the building out the fledgling mass transit infrastructure in the metro (and prolly things like bike lanes, too). Yeah, because there's a long, successful history of growing metros that eschew mass transit in favor of MOAR CARS.

If you are really sore from injury/overuse you can actually combine and take both.

But pre-ride I advise Tylenol over ibuprofen, for sure.
What about blood pressure? Back when mine was up there I could never take tylenol as it'd spike mine. I haven't had it recently, though.

Man, I seem to have missed so much while away. You got hit? Any lasting effects? I know you're off the bike due to the vtach, but damn... Last I was around you you perennially at the top or near on the strava addiction club.

Never heard of that with Tylenol. There is also a concern about NSAIDs and blood pressure. No free lunch.

Just ‘cause I don’t know it doesn’t even make it unlikely. @datlas practices real medicine in the real world and knows real stuff for real.

Positively horrible, with angry drivers the norm.

There's a dairy tanker, whose route coincides with many of my rides, that does that to me.

I have this on film, the plate number and obviously, the company's name. It's not going to be pretty. It came over even more and I had to hit the dirt.

Reader's Digest Condensed Version, in July, left hook hit by car, cardiac contusion, found v-tach while checking contusion. Still too early to know what's permanent.

Prolly. The decongestants can definitely raise your BP. Plain Tylenol should not.

Those close calls with cars/trucks are always disturbing.

Maybe the future should be gravel, after all?

Dang. Did you call the company?

I ride the Cinelli to work with the Panaracer GK 35s now. It gives me the flexibility to go into the dirt or through stuff when traffic is tight. When I can see myself getting edged out, I just go into the dirt.

I've lost my roadie bravado and worry about getting smushed a lot more now. I'm trying to start a Tuesday morning gravel ride.

Tylenol when I have a severe viral infection interacts with my Lipotor to spike my liver enzymes. I have to really work to calm my internist and cardio down. Back to normal after a couple of weeks.
