Anyone go to T-Town Today?

A friend and I took a road trip to Pennsylvania to the T-Town Velodrome Swap Meet. This was my first time going, I guess I wasn't expecting track related items to be so few. Tons of road bike parts, and junk. Luckily I scored a wheelset with Suntour Superbe hubs and Araya Aero 2 Tubular Rims and a Vittoria Pro-Team Extreme XP Tire which happened to come with a Cinelli Tube bag and Campy Pedal Strap!!

It was a good day.

I was lusting over the frames the Japanese people brought. The 3Rensho / Fuji were my favorite - I would have spent the money if they had one in my size.

Bikes: 2003 Fuji Track Bike,Pink Univega, Mixed part BMX, Early 70's Columbia Tandem, Orange and Cream Fixed gear Pursuit bike (Puig), random bikes made from spare parts

the japanese frames were pretty nice, but $500 per frame was pretty steep. I am not saying that they werent worth it, but they were used and some were pretty scratched up... something like that deserves to be built up right, so now you are looking at spending over 1,000 beans on a nice racing frame that still looks all scratched up. again, not saying it wasnt worth it, i just felt it was kinda steep for what i was looking for. I scored a few things that I really wanted, a pair of bullhorns, a stelle italia saddle (white), some clipless shoes and a 650 front tire...all for a pursuit frame that I am building up. All in all it was a blast, lots of cool philly people there.... but the first poster was right, lots of JUNK as well. I cant wait for the next swap on July 9th.

Bikes: two melton track bikes (one is a tandem), Fuji Pro road bike, cinelli unica, raleigh pro (modern raleigh)

t-town is greener cause of me. Met the Japanese folks who had the keirin frames and various used track supplies. Bought 14 chainrings from them. Passed on sugino 75 crankarms at a c-note pr. Nice people though.

scored two spinergy spox front wheels. love those large diameter flanges. reminds me of the level hubs for sheer size. though the Levels are even more substantial.

nice folks at stand with Trek sunshade had a Moser road frameset from 2000 for a c note and a cool Nishiki earlier time trial/areo frameset for, get this, 10 bongo congos. Both found their way to my pickup truck. Maybee I'll build a conversion fixie out of one or both.

scored various road related supplies.... a campy record 10 spd rear derailleur for eighty bucks... a pair of chorus 10 speed tubular wheels... have a cinelli unica that I want to someday finish up.

you guys see criteriumUSA... they had Michelin speediums for ten bucks a throw... I now have enough spare tires to last till i'm eighty.

in all I left t-town about nine c-notes to their green

cool stuff, beautiful day.... nice people.

I was a little disappointed by the vendor turnout, smallest one I've seen yet, spring or fall. Still a nice time and a beautiful day. So who ended up buying the 3Rensho from the Japanese crew? And what did you end up paying? All those frames started at pretty high pices but went down a lot towards noon.

Bikes: '06 Vanilla touring, '09 Vanilla cx, Zanconato cx, Moots Psychlo-X RSL prototype, Nagasawa track, Kalavinka track, Black Cat 29er, Cannondale Rize 2 26er, Serotta CRL Legend

Is the July 9 swap at t-town as well? Only thing I picked up was a set of Michelin Pro Race in Tour de France '00 colors (red white and blue, woot) for $25. A deal I can live with.

i was pretty happy, considering i didn't *need* anything...

scored a couple of stems, seatpost (total $18), buncha tubes, gloves, some tools - there's always more crap to buy.

my buddy snatched one of the keirin frames - black & white, miya something? iya? can't remember the name. he payed $480; looked well worth it to me.

seemed like a decent offering overall, but then this was my first pilgrimage to t-town.

They are pretty scratched up but they are well taken care of those frames. They ride very careful with them. I am telling you from personal experience. Some are looking for these frames and paying the shipping price. each is own but good stuff.
