Sadly haven't ridden as much as I'd like but so far more pleasant experience here, especially down town.

I have the Wabi Classic in Desert Turquoise, but I really like the "classic" look of your bike. You had different grips in the picture in the 2015 thread. They looked like cloth tape.

Thank you for the kind comment :) Yes, I used to make my own grips, Rivendell-style, though it made switching out bars annoying so I haven't done that in a while.

ceelint 05-04-16 02:07 PM

Those grips are awesome!

I've already switched out the handlebars to a compact drop, but that required switching the stem, as well. After seeing your bike and having neck pain after each ride, I started seriously thinking about going with a riser (or some other non-racing bar) and I thought the cloth tape looked totally bada$$. And the combination of shiny, chrome-looking parts and the cloth tape made the bike look very classic; which I didn't even realize I liked until I saw yours. Thanks for sharing.

If you lose a link from the chain it'll give you enough room left in the dropouts to tension it.

Also get some bar tape

Either that or he stopped to relieve himself.

My new ratty Samson. Paid very little.

Previous owner road it in a city for the past 10+ years. Lots of wear in the usual U-lock spots.

I repaired the Flite...just some stitching and Shoe Goo.
Figure I'll ride it into the ground. Was thinking about a full repaint but just love the chrome under the paint.

28mm Conti GP BARELY fits in the rear. 2-3mm clearance in spots. Think I'll try to squeeze in a 25mm GP in the front since the 23mm Gatorskin is about dead.

Looks like a fair bit of slack on that chain. Fixing that would give more clearance in the back.
