Been riding bikes, reading bike forums and using CK headsets for years and have never heard of this.

my buddy that's from temecula (who was the junior xc mtb california state champion in the late 90s) told me it was a thing in southern california...he had the cups installed upside down on his turner flux. he worked for tuner and intense, too. i've been running my king cups upside down for over a decade now. i personally think it's funny to see a boutique part, like a king headset, installed upside down. also, it annoys the **** out of people. people don't seem to understand that it's my bicycle...and as long as it's functional (which it is) what's the big deal?!

oh, and fwiw white industries cranks have the logo upside down when the cranks are in the "right" position.

Upside down cups are not my thing, but as long as the logos are lined up it's chillin.

I also down own a bike with external cups, so I dont have these decisions to make.

I liked the upside down pink.

traded the pink to a buddy for this pewter. i personally don't like the sotto voce series upsides down. the regular ones with the obnoxious graphics i like upside down.

long story- i originally wanted a sotto voce pewter headset for this frame. i had a mismatched parts-bin king on it since i've had the bike. i traded a buddy the mismatched one for the pink one yesterday. today, another buddy came in and he commented on the pink headset and how it would look rad on his 5th anniversary big block. so we traded, and i ended up getting what i wanted originally without actually buying it. win/win. i think the sotto voce series is a little classier and prefer the logos on them to face the right direction. that's all.

This conversation wouldn't be happening if people would get past the KING KING KING KING KING nonsense for a moment and contemplate the simple elegance of a proper Cane Creek 110 Classic headset.
