Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? I've driven that in a car. HOW on earth did you do that with one ratio?

It was a very difficult ride but the experience was totally worth it. I had to stop and rest often since I had to keep my momentum when climbing which meant pushing hard. I had to walk two steep hills but besides that it was slow and painful but doable.

Current squeeze. Every time I consider selling it, I hop on and daily it for a couple weeks and remember why it's so fun.

Fat tires, full fenders, wide bars and some basket goodness for all that modern day hip.

Nashbar SSCX? I love mine so much, and it's the cheapest, nastiest bike I own. Basket club member too, Wald 137 zip tied to a VO Pass Hunter rack.

Sure is! It's well and far away from stock setup, but I really like it for how cheap it was.

Wald 137 to a VO Pass Hunter is the exact setup I got too and I wouldn't change it for the world.

If you ever want an upgrade I'd say look into getting some better brakes, the stock ones are horrible. The CX9s I've got are arguably the best performing brakes in my fleet.

Nice Rush and awesome ride. I was going to comment on your handle bar angle but I bet it helped when grinding all those hills .

Thanks man. But yeah that definitely helped climbing. I do need to lower them now that I'm back to riding on flat ground.

Cool. Is it my monitor or the pic or are those tires blue/grey?
