lol.
fortunately for me I was a fixed rider first who later discovered roadie riding and MTB. I guess that means I still have some sensibility about me haha.

Not too shabby but agreed with Scrod on the pedals
There are some really neat Canuckistanian builders out there that I didn't know about. I am glad you posted that bike and glad I took the time to look it up. Some pretty neat stuff. I wouldn't mind a Le Croco just for the bomb ass logo...maybe Moots and them should team up some how. Mr. Moots and Le Croco!

You're probably right. I was focusing on the second pic but the first one does look OK.

The new Swobo. Converted to drop bars before the first ride. Rides as smooth as a baby's butt. Would actually make a nice gravel bike, by my measurements I could squeeze in a 50c tire. Going to buy a WI freewheel and some nice cranks, but besides that it needs nothing else.

I have no idea. Swobo doesn't say and I see no markings. I know they're heavy and I can just about scratch the black paint off with my fingernail. I tried removing them and my extractor wouldn't thread into either arm, so I'm not looking forward to switching them out. Going to buy a lighter BB as well, Orgin 8 makes a nice one with a hollow spindle and aluminum cups.

work in progress
:-)
gonna go through the fitment calculator tonight and probably will wind up flipping that stem. Feels pretty good as-is.
I removed the stickers and have new, non-moldy bar tape on the way! Too bad because this bar tape is really nice $30 stuff.... Getting replaced by SRAM super cork which is supposed to be good/thick. Good for commuting.

Most of the ones I am finding are 2x or triples or made for like 34T MTB rings.

... there is a guy on CL selling an SRAM 2pc triple WITH BB for $25... I am pretty sure it'd be an easy 1x conversion... should offer him $15 just to have it for my next project.

That's awesome to hear; I would not expect any issues, I just don't see a ton of them outside of you tube videos of track races.
I guess it's just a combination of cost and the fact that the SS/Fixed crowd is a tad bit nostalgic for old tech? Or maybe it's just that our bikes are light to begin with, we're not going to give up a functioning sq tapered BB for one that costs hundreds to save a few ounces?
I am more interested in the added pedaling efficiency but I think I will see a lot more gains if I finally bite the bullet and get some decent foot retention going on....

Was thinking starting with old school straps??? I had a bad experience when I was camping and riding my Mtb when I was drunk (about 22 years old) I fell because I couldn’t get out of my clipless pedals, which I was not used to. Been riding platforms ever since
