I took some photos to show off the new bag I got and figured I might pop out a few extras of the bike or parts thereof. I need to actually use a better camera (or a better photographer) and get some way better shots of the full bike outside in daylight...soon enough, soon enough,

Here is that post which has more pictures of the bag but some better looks at some of the bike:

Unfortunately the Paselas are a busily treaded tire that will only provide ~50% of the grip available from a comparably sized slick tire. So the bike is pretty much worthless. Again, Scientific fact.

It just seems to be a recurring theme around here. How about a nice video of Continental making GP4000s instead?

I'm not a safety freak by any stretch of the imagination. I participate in dangerous hobbies. I don't always use/wear as much safety gear as I should when I use tools etc.
But even I shudder at the potential injury in that video at 3:35ish when the female worker is removing the tire from the machine. Is that in the USA? I'm guessing not. OSHA would be doing backflips. That thing looks like the perfect arm amputation device. Holy crap. It's spinning fast with totally exposed blades/fins just waiting for an accidental hand insertion, and then crunch...rip...arm is gone. Even if that thing has a emergency stop/clutch and a sensor to identify an accidental insertion....it aint gonna be pretty.

Yes, yes the Paul hang would have been better as an integrated seat post clamp but alas it was separate and at the time the Surly one was out of stock and I like Paul stuff so it was easy.
I may end up changing it out when I re cable things but right now I am fine with the set up. Helps make sure no seatpost slippage so it does have that added benefit. If I eventually build my 'Merica bike (as much MUSA stuff as possible minus tubes and tires probably) I would probably try and get something integrated into the frame.

Thanks. The bike was found on CL and was just too clean and reasonable to pass up. Only thing wrong with it was a broken rear D cable. Paint and decals are near mint. Even the original wheels are in good shape, so it could easily be returned to geared bike service for the cost of a cable and a pair of new 27" tires.
Bars are Nitto B-2500aa. Zero sweep and zero rise x 50 cm. Tires are 700x28 Gran Bois off of my Wabi. She got new Compass tires in size 28.
