Has anyone measured the downtube of a Kilo WT?

I am turning one into a three speed (Sturmey Archer) and running a cable on the downtube, I'd like to get a clamp to hold the cable but need to know the diameter.

Stock white kilo wt converting to a three speed SA with the shifter in the bar end. Also putting on 32 mm gatorskins and possibly a small front basket rack . I'll try to remember to post pics when it is done.

More specifically, 31.8 mm or 1 1/4 inches which is the standard size for an oversized tube set.

Here it is as of now. I know, wrong side to take the pic, blah blah blah. Better pic to come when I have the new 3 speed on and the steering tube chopped.

I took the pic before planning to come here and ask about the downtube measurement. Pic was requ...never mind, no need to justify anything.

Let me ask this while here:

I am currently using some cheap wellgo pedals pulled from my mtn bike. They are fine but I would like a flat pedal that is thinner so that I can drop the seatpost down a smidge and also have a tiny bit more ground clearance. Any suggestions? I wouldn't want to spend much and more likely than not, I would look for a used pair as it is not a priority.

Relax everything is fine. I was kidding around.

Though when customers come in and want to show off their new purchase to a loved one or friend I make sure cranks are in the proper place and stems are at noon (or at least in the same spot on each wheel) and depending on how busy we are I will usually shift up in the the larger chainring but that part I sometimes forget. Otherwise we should just "MARK IT F'ING ZERO"

If you don't get the references stop wasting your time here and go out and get yourself a copy of The Big Lebowski and watch it a lot.

As far as pedals DMR V8s are excellent quality metal body pedals for a cheap price. The pins are I believe replaceable which is nice and they have some different colors. Though the Vaults in that Oil Slick color are pretty sexy but also quite a bit more.

Moving the saddle back will also allow you to drop the seatpost a bit and keep the same leg extension. Cue onslaught of bike fit nerding.

DMR V8s aren't especially low-profile, though. I've been casually looking around for something similar on my townie. VP-Vice and Race Face Chester seem like good inexpensive options if you want low profile.

Saddle is staying put. It is fit perfect.

I did see the suggested pedals are not low profile so other suggestions appreciated.

No worries, they aren't especially high profile either. A good reasonably priced reasonably durable pedal that your local shop might have or can easily order.There are certainly thinner pedals and some that can go for quite a few bucks out there and they are great pedals but these are reasonable and not plastic.

There is also plenty of cheap stuff that the Jeff Bezos Bike shop will sell you some known quantities along with a ton of unknown brands, a lot of which is just copies and clones of the actual stuff made with cheaper materials, poorer finish or bad labor or labor practices all shipped out by the happy people at the Jeff Bezos Bike Shop, sure pay is an issue and overwork is an issue and regular security frisks for employees is an issue and his employees do waste a bit of time going to the bathroom instead of working but his prices are cheap and he cannot fix any issues with your bike so it is a "win-win".
