As for CM this Friday, I might go. Depends on when Don is gonna be in town, I may end up getting dinner with him or something, if not though, I'll be there on the blue bike (I broke a few chainring bolts on the Kiyo so it's taking it easy until I can get some replacements).
WTF? Broke chaingring bolts? How did you do that?

Nice! I'm working in Mountain View right now, moving to the city on sep. 1, so I'll be commuting south. I'm planning on hitting the caltrain, or (don't hate) driving some days when I've gotta wear a suit. I'd definitely be interested in riding down some days though. I'll PM some of you guys once I get moved in.

Dude, chewbacca is always riding my bike. Honestly though, I don't know, the heads just broke off of two of the bolts and fell out of the holes. I was wondering why my drivetrain got noisy all of a sudden and when I got home that was the situation...

Man, that is so weird. I wonder if they were bunk bolts or something? There shouldn't be enough stress on them that the heads would be snapping off.

That route looks mostly like city streets with alot of traffic signals, how many signals do you cross?

Lots, we run most of them because at 5-7am there are almost no cars on the road. It's not until Palo Alto that you have to worry about traffic. Hell, we ran a train crossing today, that was a little iffy, I think it scared Kendal awake

Anybody ever ride from SF directly to Hellyer? I know it's in the SJ area, but I've never been. How close does your route run to Hellyer?

hellyer is pretty south sj, i've never done the ride myself but i'd assume it would add somewhere near 30-45 minutes to the total time from sf to sj that the guys above do. it takes me maybe an hour from where my parents are in the south bay. and the ride from sf to their house is about 2 - 2.5 hrs i think? i might be slow though.

Realistically, you're not going to be competitive at the track after such a long ride. I'd be damn tired...
