oh no chain noise
not to beat a dead horse, but i have chain noise that i can not find. i have a stock iro mark v pro ,it had a little noise when i got it that went away. now i have about 400 miles on it and it sounds like popcorn,i can stop the noise but not cranking hard, i have check the chain ring bolts, the cranks and even the seat to see if it was loose, ive cleaned and relubed, i used a wax lube that made it worse so went back to the cross country stuff. do you think it could be my bottom bracket or my chain im going nuts nuts im telling you

Hmmm my 2c .....
My langster was making horrible noises, I was thinking OK, time to go through and check all the things, the pedals, the bolts that hold that big gear, the bottom bracket.... but first I'm going to give that chain a nice "drink" of tri-flow.... I do that, put triflow on each link and give the chain a good rubbing down to get a lot of the black gunk off with a paper towel, then a nice test ride around here, really stomp on it.... silent.
I was using White Lightning, a wax lube, and just on a club ride on my gearie, 40-50 miles and the chain's all noisy, shifting not all that great, I went to tri-flow and now it's not a problem. I hate to say it but given a 30-odd mile club ride, 5 miles there and back to the start point, then other odd riding I have to do to get through my day, 50 miles is not that uncommon for me. And so far, in my experience, tri-flow beats wax lube.
so try that and see what noises still go on, and go from there.

Yeah hate to say it, but my gearie's as a general thing quieter than the Big Bad Langster.
hehe I was with 2 other riders on a group ride today and we passed one of the "serious commuter" types with the reflective vest and battle-worn road bike, and as I passed her, I stage-whispered: "Oil your chain". She was pushing some rust there!

Please tell us your setup:
Chainwheel make/model/width?
Chain make/model/width?
Cog make/model/width?
Bottom Bracket make/model?
Are you sure that it's the chain? It could be the bearings in your BB (if you have the looseball type). If you get the sound when you put your weight the bike or when climbing, then it's probably your BB. If it's loose ball, clean, grease, and repack them OR just use a sealed BB.
If you lift the rear of the bike and turn the crank arm with your hand and you hear a constant sound, then it's probably your chain/chainwheel combo.
What size are your chainring and cog, 3/32 or 1/8? If you have 3/32 try a 1/8 chain.
One more thing, what kind of chainring are you using? The cut of the teeth could be contributing to the noise. I upgraded my chainring and chain and reduced the sound of my bike significantly.

my drivetrain got a lot quieter when i
- replaced my worn chainring with a new one
- put a 1/8" chain on the drive (1/8" ring/ 3/32" cog)
and now it is nice and quiet as long as i keep it lightly oiled.

Could be your chain tension. Have you checked that? "Popcorn" noises can't be good.

i had a giant, and then a nishiki, that rode great for a while, then produced the popcorn noise you spoke of... about 2 months after those two made that noise, the frame broke in exactly the same spot... the angled bar, right near the headstock (forgive me if thats not tech terminology). im not sure if the two events were related, but i would definately not wait on this problem, less you find yourself with no frame...

All of the crap that was grinding around in your drivetrain got washed out. Quick, put some lube on it before it rusts.
It's funny, cause the same thing happened to me yesterday. My bike always looks really shiney after a rain shower.
