Boston Sunday ride

Leaving from Copley Sq Sunday at noon for a leisurely 50 mile ride. Hopefully some of the MIT people will join us.

Are you riding fixed or freewheel? I'm doing 40 on Saturday on my road bike. Probably I'll do that on Sunday too.

This one'll be tough. I have a meeting at MIT at 11 a.m., and I have a strong feeling (gee, I don't know why) that it won't be done before 12. If, by some miracle, it is, then I'll come. If I'm not there at 12:05, roll out.

P, We'll move it back a bit. What time can you make it?

stickyfoot, I'll be doing it fixed, but I don't care what you ride. Some of the MIT guys ride road bikes.

I'd say that 1:30 would for sure work. However, I might have yet another obligation that day, so let me get back to you later today/tonight. Oh, and I just got my SLR saddle...gotta test that out.

By the way, the ride yesterday was awesome. We did a touch more than 40 miles, and the off-road section was sweet. Nothing like running through a set of sandy whoops (at least half a mile of them!) on slick road tires at speed. Got a little loose there, but man, that was fun.

Hey, you guys mind if an outa townah hops in? I would come up from providence ... nobody around here will ride any appreciable distance on fixed, plus I would dig meeting some new fixed riders.

I'm an out-of-towner, so I don't mind.

1:30's too late, P. Let's stick with noon.

We're meeting at Copley Square, in front of the church.

When people meet at the reflecting pool they meet on the Mass Ave side of it.

I don't know about the route. Maybe start by going out Mass Ave, way out. I'll have to look at our last route map, but there were some nice quiet roads. No bike paths.

jrowe - yeah it looks like noon will work out after all. My meeting got moved later to the evening. For route suggestions, you might want to check out what we did for the ~40 mile ride that we did on Thursday. We figured out a sweet way to get between Lexington and Bedford without using the bike path, that also tacks on some extra miles. If you want, I can sketch it out in (Google) Pedometer.

Sorry folks, I'm not going to make it. The discomfort I'd been experiencing since Thursday morning turned out to be a collapsed lung. I won't be out of the hospital for a few days.

Also, who is *definitely* coming tomorrow?

Big ups to jrowe. Get well soon dude.

Well ****, if you're coming from Providence just to make this ride, I'll do it up *for real*. Check back after 9:30 - route should be up.

Here we go: https://tinyurl.com/868lf

Depending on how good my legs are feeling, I may shorten this, but this is the max length that the route would be.

Man, this looks like fun. Unfortunately, if I'm in decent health, I have the tallbikes thing (which of course you're all invited to: mos.org/tallbikes). If not, it's back to bed for me.

I started out a little sick yesterday and after towing the dog 50 miles to and from the MassBike event, I'm pretty messed up. Idiot.

And damn! Who killed Jeff!?
