Hasn't FGG always had a bunch of super crappy conversioins? there have been a few beutiful bikes over the years, some with a lot of personality, but most are odd conversions. I don't know, I think after you see so many bikes it starts to get old.

just saying, custom nagasawa w/ c-record hubs != super crappy conversion.

But you're right, there are a lot of conversions; a majority, I think.

If you don't like it then don't look at it. I don't know how much schooling you've had but the title does say fixed-fear gallery—not track bike gallery. I guess I'm a hater now.

The FGG posts all suitable submissions. If you don't like what you see, either tell people with cool bikes to submit them, or build one and submit it. Sheesh.

to me, some proportions just look "right." like those of a 56 or 57cm track bike with traditional geometry.

small bikes make the wheels look big and the angles relaxed.

looks like big bikes are rolling on bmx wheels with skinny tires.

*nods head*

it's the downside of "inclusive", kind of like the internet in general. saying a bike has to be close to cool before it can be on the FGG is like saying you have to have an idea that is close to intelligent before you can start a thread in bikeforums.

Whats worse, a crappy conversion that gets 200mi of hard riding a week or a spiffy new bike or a nice conversion that gets 50?

Both are fine in my book.

yeah i ride two actually

im not knocking conversions, just the fact that i remember a time when FGG had something like 10 bikes a day. out of the ten, 2 or 3 were rad as hell.

now its like 3 a day and for the most part, theyre pretty borring.

i guess its what jayrooney said about once you see enough bikes they kind of get old

Wow, you've got some skills. I can pretty much only ride one bike at a time.

He said he rides two, but one of them was actually converted to a unicorn, so it doesn't count...at least not on this forum.
