Singlespeed & Fixed Gear "I still feel that variable gears are only for people over forty-five. Isn't it better to triumph by the strength of your muscles than by the artifice of a derailer? We are getting soft...As for me, give me a fixed gear!"-- Henri Desgrange (31 January 1865 - 16 August 1940)

House of Track Blows

I ordered 2 headsets from House of Track and not only did they never ship my order, but after 2 weeks I inquired and got a ridiculously long email back saying how they have been having a problem with their employees and how the server had problems and how they had no record of my order ––even tho i was, in fact, charged –– and they asked me to email them again because they will probably lose all their email due to a computer problem.

any one else have problems with them?

this is now, unfortunately, a common problem with this shop. Although I have had great service in the earlier part of this year, I would avoid them based on a lot of posts here.
I recommend getting your money back ASAP via your credit card company if possible.

165 is right, definately do a charge-back if you can to get your refund. None of these things are your problem and they shouldn't even mention it beyond "we apologize but your order was lost/misplaced we'll immediately (do something to fix it)" Then perhaps toss in a lil something extra. I've run into shipping problems that I've explained to customers but only if the product is in route and my hands are tied by customs etc. I always try to do something to make up for any delays etc without burdening the customer with my troubles...I mean really, what? I want sympathy? I don't think so.

well, i guess i got lucky. it took alot of calling and some time, but he (neal) had also lost my order and i just happened to call him (and reached him) shortly after the order was lost. he some how sent everything all the way to switzerland, frame and all, for 50 bucks and no customs charges. i've read good things and bad things. maybe its all about luck...

he's insane.

sometimes it will come quickly with stickers for unrelated products enclosed. other times it will come with extra products in the same box that you didn't pay for. and on occasion, it won't come at all.

Having read his previous rants here, I think it more about trying to balance a business with a crystal meths habit.

Maybe soon I will see Neal camped outside the Open Door fiddling with bikes.

Bikes: track bikes, etc

While Neal did give me extra stuff, he never offered to BLOW me. What is all the talk about him being the jam and blowing fellow Track Bicyclist. That is the Ultra Jam, I am calling House Of Track in the morning and getting to the bottom of this.
