Hipsters here in the hippest city of all (San Francisco) seem to be into black belts with those square studs from the '80s.

The most hipsterish thing I've noticed (during Critical Mass, 'natch) was single speed (not fixed) bikes with no rear brake. Has the look without any of that scary "can't stop pedaling" thing.

Obviously it was meant as a joke, but there's no way hipsters have 2% bodyfat. To put it in terms a cyclist can understand, Lance Armstrong, at the top of his form, at the beginning of the tour is around 4 or 5% body-fat.

I think most hipsters are probably way too busy shopping for shoes, track-bikes, and trucker hats to keep up the kind of exercise regimen required to achieve even 5 - 6% bodyfat, much less 2%. Can you even survive w/ 2% bodyfat?

From the looks of things, they have it injected into their girlfriends' cheeks.

I'm waiting for the chrome party pack : chrome pista, chrome bag, chrome pyramid-studded white belt.

I call it 'the hat trick'.

Yeah, why is it that track cycling is a sport and competitive eating is not?

spud 10-02-05 01:06 PM

hipsters are timeless man, even as old hipsters get older and just go on with life, there are hundreds more entering; the hipster movement never dies.
