i suppose a decent analogy would be a used vs. off-the-rack vs. tailored suit.

They did once have guys making the frames. They also went to machines in 1988-89 time frame when they went to PICS ( Panasonic Individual Custom System) which final prep was by a human. This is what you see now comes from. It is custom by they take your measurements, tubing, painting ideas and build it.

So theyre done with machine?..was wondering that. Doesnt bother me i guess.

Ceya 03-19-07 10:39 PM

It is done by both. The weld and process was so they could meet the demand.

PICS was made for the US market before they pulled the plug on the US market. It was almost $1= 600 yen back then with Reganomics. Losing too much money importing to states.

P.S. see both was used.http://www.yellowjersey.org/pana.html . I will look for my PICS catalog from 1988.

Not worth visiting at all.

I think I can remember the bike stuff they have for sale off the top of my head:

1 x SR seatpost
1 x Messenger radio (if that counts as bike stuff)
some tools
some toestraps (nylon)
a secondhand Shimano 105 road wheel

and that's about it. It's more of a clothes shop - homemade Ts and colorful clothes for girls.

That's how every race starts. The guy out the front is the pacer. He sets an even speed for the other guys - although he's still allowed to try to outsprint them at the end.

moe sizlack 04-02-07 10:58 AM

sweetbike 04-02-07 12:18 PM

Are those Lance Armstrong live strong wristbands?

kludge 04-02-07 01:48 PM

midget.

gbarchus 04-03-07 11:44 AM

Yeah, they are LIVESTRONG bands. I'm from Austin, TX and a big supporter of Lance. I thought they could serve a dual purpose of reminding me of his efforts and to keep my hubs clean. I'm not sure who would be most offended, purists or Lance supporters.

trons 04-03-07 11:56 AM

any rensho + yellow tires = a+

DoshKel 04-03-07 12:28 PM

Yea thats pretty funny about the wrist bands gbarchus. They either spitting on the organization by cleaning up the crap that gets on your hub, or supporting it by you buying them.

I like it :D.

Currently building this up for my wife. Scored the frameset for next to nothing.
Its got a few scratches but is in good shape overall. No dents or anything like that.
Had the fork drilled by Kalavinka for her and now have most of the parts for it. Just need wheels/tires and a crank set.

Yes, they are Nitto risers. I got them at Kalavinka. They have red, blue, green, gold and maybe other colors.
I have gold ones on my bike.

bonechilling 04-08-07 05:19 AM

I don't understand why Nitto doesn't import this stuff into
the US. It seems like they'd make a fortune selling that
stuff here. I'd certainly buy some.

Also, your wife and I have brother/sister bikes.
